thats a link to a test someone made with different spec over 50 and 50 for scythe.

Anyone knows is this right that you nearly gain nothing over 50scythe for going thrugh enemy defence?

I would hazard a guess that the mechanics are similar to that that affects assassins and the issue of making composite pierce/blade spec more than 51... i.e. it has no effect... hence why the assassins move to specing High CS and lower Pierce/Blade

defence penetration does nothing over 50 composite specc.

But u do get greater styledmg with your scythe styles.

Umm, isn't it 51 composite?

This is the entire theory behind Wyrd specing. But it only works if you don't use the styles in a given line (composite 51 use only CS, CD, DW styles) as it over 51 composite does effect style damage if you're using styles from your base line. Therefore relying on the 51 composite spec only works if you've another style line that you will use exclusively, other than that your style damage will take a hit.

51 composite is the best you'll get for penetrating defenses. Higher spec's will not increase this (though aug str/dex will iirc).

Note: Level 50 styles in CD & DW both use your 'base' damage type (blades, pierce, blunt) for the calculation so that'll take a hit if you spec 51 composite.
Those that can't lead follow.

Those that can lead should admit when they're lost.

Body: THere has been no evidence proving/disproving how the lvl 51 works for toons at RR5. Thus, in all honesty, its just to be safe.

And my personal tests showed no difference in defence penetration between 50 and 51

Because if it were to be 51 specc then stealth should probably work the same and it doesn´t :)

That is correct. However because Scythe is a two-handed weapon, speccing less Scythe means AND less Style-damage AND less base-damage. For each spec-point into Scythe, you receive a bonus to base-damage aswell (2H-bonus).

The difference in damage is quite small, but its there. However for upcoming patch, Im sure to go higher arb-spec to get the diseases :>
