I don´t really care about artis etc. They can easily be farmed. But if my Sililias ring is missing then I am gonna be mad. You can count the numbers of that ring in Midgard with both hands and the number of rings that for sale is zero. And if ring is missing my template is screwed and if template is screwed my RvR is screwed...

you know they cant give Rps/Plats/Atifacts due to their contract with mythic and they cant give us free days without giving excal peeps it too (which they wont do cause excal peeps dont really deserve it expect for putting up with us all this time )

The ONLY thing we pay GOA for is to keep the game up and running. They contribute nothing to its design, content or development (or almost nothing). They blatantly failed to do so, and if their position is that we can suffer without free days simply because they are worried about giving it to a few extra people, that doesn't strike me as an appropriate spirit to deliver recompense for letting us all down so badly as a service provider.

Not giving us free days is one thing, but then to give a tiny increase in RPs means that people not leveling a character have effectively been given almost no compensation at all.

On top of that, the little compensation they are giving is for a lesser period than the outage, when considering the amount of actual gaming time it involves.

So if you ask what they can do, my answer is:

1) Give us free days. Tough if they can't differentiate between Pryd players and excal players. They could easily say a pryd player is one where the highest character on the account is on pryd. EDIT - as Ovi pointed out, they are giving free days.

2) Give us double xp, money and RPs for a period starting Monday and lasting until 19/09. This would be slightly longer than the outage, but since the outage covered a bank holiday, it would balance.

Then they'd end up with people feeling they'd made a MEANINGFUL gesture instead of grudgingly throwing us a small bone.

/Edit: I agree with the 19th as the end too, as I posted on FH earlier. That way we get 2 weekends, just as we lost 2 weekends.

Sorry Ovi, I went by what Banana said. I did read GOAs post, but thought I had minsunderstood it when I read Banana's post.

Even so, if you read my post instead of doing that silly quote thing for then umpteempth time, you'd see I also have a problem with the level of compensation.

Don't get me wrong on this, I am not anti-GOA. I give credit where it is due, I feel. I was quick to point out the good service I've had from in game GMs in the past when someone complained about them a while back.

This time however, I don't feel they are due much credit. They've clearly not flogged themselves to get the server back up, which would be stadard practice for most support departments.

I use the tags to emphasise that I am replying to your post, and edit it to reduce the amount of text, as well as to make the actual point.

I was fairly careful in the choice of words (For late Friday night ...) to try not to offend anyone, I apologise if I failed.

The free days is imo fair compensation, when as Quinlan pointed out the service was never down. The extra RP/XP etc is just a little extra, and the cake would've been Iced if the end of the bonuses was the 19th

Whether the service overall is good or not is a different discussion, one that has been done to death over the last week. Imo though the compensation is pretty good.

For future reference, when you edit my post within quote tags, it gives the impression you are puttting words in my mouth. When you replace the text with YOUR interpretation of my words rather than my actual words, it subverts the whole quoting process. If you merely want to comment on what someone says rather than quoting it, surely it would make more sense to do so outside the quote tags?

i must disagree with this im sorry but the service was down i play pryd i dont play other sever's there for the sevrice i use was Down it would be like me travling to work in london every day from cardiff on the train then i found out he track is out and the only place i can go is Cornwall, but because its the same company running the train sevrice there isnt a problem????? i think Not
