Thought Ankh might appreciate some old skool C64 game recollection. I spent hours playing that & it's was great tbh. Who needs interaction when you can behead someone? Or invite your friends round & behead them too!!!

Can't remember if the Last Ninja series had blood in it & I'm pretty sure that the Way of the Exploding Fist didn't (though WotEF2 might have with its side scrolling adventure concept).

oO & on topic playing none of these games has never made me want to take out a sword & behead people, grab a shuriken start & throw it at a random passerby or even explode my fist in someones face (though the reverse headkick was TDB in WotEF).

DAoC hasn't made me want to start hacking down vast masses either (or groups of 8 people walking past).

Though in fairness the attitude of somepeople on FH & in game has led to me wondering what it would be like to watch them boiled alive.

Now as I haven't been in a fight since I was about 15 maybe it's me & my genetic/mental makeup. Maybe those that do these things do it because of theirs & the games are incidental?? Or did you see a huge outbreak of people being pushed off high ladders in the Harold Lloyd era & did the 3 Stooges lead to everyone hitting each other with household utenstils??

If you ask me it's society & more specifically the parents & media latching on to something to try & explain their own shortcomings (well the media do it to shift units & have something to talk about when Beckham hasn't cut his hair this week. Sensationalism has always been big copy).

All this discussion about technology and games but nothing has been said about another source that exists for violent images and you dont even have to have ever touched a computer... turn on your TV and watch the news these days... reports of wars, famine, poverty, rape etc... people in the USA watched live as JFK was shot in the head ffs... media needs to examine itself before it begins to point the finger elsewhere. Yes the media has changed over the years... becoming more and more able to send images of real death and destruction directly into our homes... I sat transfixed watching as a plane filled with humans ploughed into a skyscraper in 2001 live on TV (the second one as I wasnt aware of the first one hitting till I got a call) I guarantee you that those fuckers responsible for that didnt have their actions blamed on computer games... I guarantee you that the people responsible for the London bombings had stronger influences to carry out those actions than a computer game... Hitler didnt play computer games just before committing genocide... Atilla the Hun amog others wouldnt have had influence from games... the thing that we have to remember is that there always has to be a blame hound... and for some these days that blame hound is computer games depicting violence.

Not sure if they claimed that it was the reason (motivation) behind 9/11, but didn't they claim that MS Flight Sim **** was so accurate that it enabled them to learn to fly & also how to set the correct flight path??

If it's so good makes you wonder why people spend fortunes on flight schools & silly simulators that rock around.
