tbh I think they'll be more like Vamps but with a 2h weap in their mainhand instead of a 1h peircer. It mentions they have a lot of earth magic whatever that is.

Why is everyone mr negative these days? I think theyve learnt their lessons from ToA, we can see that in the DR expansion, so cut them a bit of slack and try and be positive.

I'll wait and see. CL's to 10 aint a problem in any way, will have to see about the rest.

I agree with Crom - DR was subtle and the graphics improved a lot for me. I am sure this expansion will be fine. Its all the FOTM players that will piss me off ;)

1. I dont' think the Mauler class will be "uber" and I don't think it will do anything for tank classes in general. The same will apply with Maulers as does with melée classes in general vs. caster classes, i.e. they will be good at close-quarter range, but at distance they will be caster fodder. Certainly they will be a "fotm" class initially and they won't (I guess) have the benefit of /level. Also, the Mauler class probably won't be able to wear the best armour and I guess the Minotaur race's dexterity and quickness will be low, so they will be slower and less dextrous in combat, especially as 2-hand weapons are slower anyway. But, they will baff. A Blademaster-type class will probably make mincemeat out of them very quickly. It will be interesting to see which other races can become the Mauler class, or whether it will be available only to Minotaurs.

2. Huge dungeon will not go down well with players who have mediochre computers. The system requirements to run a huge dungeon environment smoothly will be higher than normal. Already, with the Catacombs dungeons I've experienced jerky graphics as my PC attempts to update the graphics when you are moving... and that is on an Athlon XP 2600 Barton, with 1GB RAM, standard 7,200rpm IDE hard-drive and a 128MB graphics card.

3. No! Not more Champion levels!

4. People are going to get confused between "LOTR" and "LOTM"! ;)

Catacombs proved that they still haven't learnt their lesson when it came to new classes though, a bunch of stupidly OP classes which weren't nerfed properly for well over a year so it's not suprising people are negative about Mythic inserting a new class when they've yet to release an expansion involving new classes that doesn't totally wreck the game for people having to face said classes.

Actually a dungeon will run better for most people than the large open worlds we usually run round in, decent culling algorithms make sure polys are only dealt with that can be seen (or potentially be seen very quickly, i.e. if you rotate the camera), in a big open landscape that's everything around you, in a dungeon that might only be your current corridor so there should be far less to render. The dungeon will either be loaded fully into memory in which case it will probably take about the same as your average open terrain zone or they'll be paged in, again no differently from your average open terrain zone.

If you're having problems with Catacombs dungeons it's probably down to your graphics card drivers not being particularly optimized for dealing with some shader effect or fog and such or Mythic's implementation of those features, I know I get loading lag every time I go into a foggy area misleading me into thinking we have inc sometimes and that's simply because Mythic's fog implementation isn't all that. Either way this isn't a dungeon specific thing, it's just Mythic's general implementation of various techniques that's flawed.

they made warlock/bainshee after bonedancer/savage so you cant be sure if they learnt or not :D
