I'm desperatly trying to understand how this hack was done...I mean, You told him that he could have Catacombs cdkey and £40 in exchange for another account and then he would (before recieving your account info) manage to hack it? If he knew how to hack, why hack an account that he would get along with £40? Not sure I get this one. And also, if you didnt give him your account info, how do you think he got it? It's not really easy to hack another persons computer if that computer has a firewall up - UNLESS that person is stupid enough to share a partition/directory where he keep his account info. Imo if this guy was a 'hacker' wouldnt he try and find an account that had other things than Bracer of the triumvirate and 10000 copper? 
(yeah, I saw the rest of the items too, but point is that there arent anything among those items that would be worth hacking your account to get)

Err, don't think Quin was meaning you Ankh, I thought he meant the guy who nicked the stuff (very very named and shamed) and Myth (a teensy bit shamed for falling for the scam).
