Is HIbernia doomed?
Thought I should just seek to make a quick comment about Chabio's 'try not to get killed' tactics. Knowing him somewhat, he has quite a good rp to time ratio so he does not sit back and wait for the perfect kill. He tries to choose his fights carefully. I think his concern is whether hibbies throw themselves into fights against far superior numbers where there is no chance of a win and a large chance of a quick death.
I have some sympathy with that thought I often see groups throw themselves against a zerg and claim some kind of victory when after they have been wiped someone says "well we got one of them".
However I do wonder if the process of choosing a fight is far easier when you are a stealther than when you are a fg or more.
I wonder if mids and albs are less choosy about adding or zerging (I could be wrong there and I am not saying hibbies don't do it).
I wonder over the circumstances of the count (i.e. were hibbies taking a tower or keep at the time meaning deaths were to be expected).
I agree with Puppet over the stats, as I consistently read albs/mids moaning about hibs rp gains (sadly they use this an an excuse to claim the pop bonus is wrong).
I think this is a hard point to judge based on a count over what I imagine is a short space of time (one night in one frontier) and take comfort from the fact that the grps I have run in have done quite well on the "kill or be killed" count and I am by no means an expert RvR player.

As a Chanter in a group, if you see the enemy they've more than likely seen you (and your "I'm a Caster : Shoot me outta here" staff). The enemy has their targets and the rest is history
Having great fun on my Ranger using stealth and you do get the chance to choose targets more carefully, get assisting etc. It just gives you more time to think.
The amount of stealth about is just madness atm. We took on a solo troll in mid last night that was attacking a random hib tank and about 5 stealther popped out and he was history. that said, the other side did it to us a couple of time as well
I think we got half of a good thing going on, and it will only get better with all the hype about clustering comes in and people get interested in it again. I think atm people are not too bothered with most RvR and the odd small group is bound to be picked off

partly because when the game started the beta guilds in alb and mid came to prydwen, while most of the hib beta guilds went to excal.Ixu wrote:when clustering comes we will see who gets whooping... tho exc/hib have alot experienced gamers from beginning of the game...
Also given at the time Hib was basically the incomplete realm (things only started evening up with s.i.) which ment we were seriously the underdog to begin with.
Given that we have more then held our own against the other realm i think we can continue then trend and hopefully, the forces of Excal will join and work with us rather then clash.

are you high ? there are plenty of established 8 man groups on hib pryd , and we certainly dont need excal to " show us how it is done " , no you havent been here for a long time indeed

Are you new? Oh nm yes you are. I played Pryd from the beginning, I know there are plenty of 8 man groups around now and I know you don't need Excal to show you how it's done now, but I'm not talking about now, I'm talking about then. Please re-read my post and comprehend it properly this time round.Nejtun wrote:are you high ? there are plenty of established 8 man groups on hib pryd , and we certainly dont need excal to " show us how it is done " , no you havent been here for a long time indeed
Apart from SotL and the losely banded together group of players Lourker etc. ran (they weren't Eclipse back then) there wasn't really any fixed guild groups on Pryd until guilds like NP and MM arrived on the scene, now I'm sure some will try and deny that purely because they hate NP and would really dislike admitting the NP and such changed the server to be more 8vs8 oriented but that's just how it is. The reason NP farmed so hard in there first few weeks afterall was because the server just didn't know what had hit it.
Fact is, like it or not, Excal was doing fixed group RvR on a large scale LONG before Prydwen even really knew what it was.

I don't need to quote dates, if you weren't new you'd know for yourself, but you don't, therefore, as far as I'm concerned, you are new! Also, I didn't say months in the context you're inferring so please go back and read for the third time as you're obviously struggling to understand the basic English used in my post.
was xest always this much up his own ass when he played euro servers ? i will stop commenting on your original statement here i think , you will drag this out forever :bunny:
