Not sure if they claimed that it was the reason (motivation) behind 9/11, but didn't they claim that MS Flight Sim **** was so accurate that it enabled them to learn to fly & also how to set the correct flight path??

If it's so good makes you wonder why people spend fortunes on flight schools & silly simulators that rock around.

Yeah they were blaming MS flight sim for training them.

You need to learn to fly properly to be able to fly for real though, the best MS flight sim will do is teach you flight paths and the cockpit layouts for different aircraft.

Are you implying that it's not so good & that they could never have learnt purely from the game??

It's always been the myth though, when Tornado came out (that really, really old game) they always said how it was so realistic if you could take off and fly it you'd know how to do so with a real Tornado. Fact is, machines back then simply didn't have the power to simulate realistic physics let alone the fact the graphics were so poor they didn't even properly resemble most parts of the cockpit and aircraft. Can model close to realistic flight physics now, but when you hit stuff like turbulence in a game it's hardly the same as trying to deal with it in real life.

They didnt blame MS flight simulator, but they claimed it was one reason they managed to fly the plane (which it might partially have been).
