Game crashed tonight, when i wanted to log back on all account names were gone from my start up window. To make things worse, all settings in game were changed as well. Keyboard settings, skin, ... and so on.
Pretty freaky tbh, anyone had this happen before? Cause find it odd.

Not the same no but for the last week about every 2nd time I log in the game hangs after char-selection & the only thing I can do is hit ESC. Afterwards when I log in I have to redo all my quick-bars. Sometimes the same thing happens when zoning or logging out. Luckily I back my char.ini files up every day so I just have to log out - restore - log back in.

I would always advise backing up all your ini files and user.dat to another place, either a seperate hard disk, or even better a seperate pc. I actually have a logon script that does this for me at logon across all my pc's. If you dont have a server, then just put the script in your StartUp folder.
Create a text file. Paste this in and ammend to your preferences. Rename to whatever you like making sure it ends with .cmd or .bat. Stick the shortcut to it in StartUp folder.
The ideal is to make the destination (the second path below) a shared location, then for every PC you play daoc on do the same, this means that whenever you make changes to quickbars or binds for example, you will always have the latest one copied to your PC's.
Also note i'm also backing up all the items from the SC crafter.
This will also backup user.dat on a per pc basis, important as it has info such as the resolution at which you run the game stored within it.
Finally note that i backup bath catacombs and toa ini's. If you have installed daoc into a new folder, keeping catacombs then you can add that in as well.
Also note that this currently works because ini's and user.dats are compatible across toa, catas and dr.
@echo off
REM This does the backup to shared location.
REM The first path is the source, the second is the destination.
REM I'm using a share for my destination, you could use a second partition or hard drive.
