Just to clear up a few misconceptions.

We are still working on the problem and we are now looking at the last chunk of reports. There was a slowdown in the rate of fixes towards the end of last year due to staffing issues and other operational factors. This was unavoidable however at no point did the process stop.

No-one has been put on hold. If you are playing on a different server we can still log you in on Pryd as long as you aren't already logged in on the cluster. There is no 'deprioritising' of players who have moved to Glastonbury.

We can't restore items on closed accounts. This has nothing to do with privacy issues but simply because we need to log your character in to give him stuff. We can't log in a character on a closed account any more than you can.

A rollback was not possible, even had we wanted to take that path. We had two options open to us, have our database checked and cleaned up by Mythic then restore missing items manually or wipe the whole thing. Even with the benefit of hindsight I maintain that our choice was the right one.

Wiping would have effectively killed the server, that it wasnt possible to rollback is a great worry and i take it measure have been taken to make sure something like this doesnt happen again.

I would severely doubt it was unavoidable, more like it was unavoidable without spending cash!

I think what people find most annoying is that the first few weeks went really quickly, since there were resources provided. If these resources had continued then the problem would have been completed months ago!

hey everyone, sorry id just coem back from a night out and was abot to bite into a divine quarter pounder with cheese when i noticed this thread,s o thot id post a reply. in hindsight probably shlda waited till morning, anyway clear it up: im sure GOA are doing everything they can to run all the projects that need to be run to keep the game working, and i dont blame any of the GMs who i think are fantastic and ive seen them ingame loads of times helping players out. just seems that when this happened more staff shoulda been brought in to deal with the situation in a swift manner. anyway apologies for the strongly worded post earlier
