Veg, you seem to be coming on a bit strong to me. If anyone said even half of what you just posted to someone in real life, they'd be trying to start a fist fight. That kinda thing is just counterproductive. It doesn't ever lead anywhere worthwhile. The reason I word things politely, even when criticising someone, is because I am a generally polite person.

The reason I attacked (as you put it) Sat and Thand, is because I thought I was making a reasonable point. Until recently, both of them were pretty friendly towards Gandelf. Anyone can verify it for themselves by going and looking at old threads. They've been friends for ages in DAoC terms. Now suddenly, coinciding with a falling out in game, they are being aggro to him whenever he says stuff.

If I was bearing a grudge from in game towards someone and making posts from it, I'd expect it to be considered unacceptable. The fact Satyn is a mod makes it even worse to me.

Satyn and particularly Thand have both been good friends to me for a couple of years in game. Ask them. I've got no ulterior motive for any criticism I have ever made of them on this forum. In fact, I have been aware that I'm jeopardising that friendship (which I value a lot) by making some of the posts I have in the past. The only time I've said stuff here, and I realise there has been a lot of it since the forum went through some changes, is when I've genuinely believed something is being done that shouldn't be.

Maybe Sat's point is more relevant to me than I thought. Maybe I should just let more stuff slide and avoid having all these long and difficult threads, even when I think something isn't right. Doesn't seem like any of my posts have helped.

Thanks for that Belisar
maybe a long post... but atleast belisar's post isnt as....agressive as mine, so as locky said "Abit sad, but that include you for spending your free time reading it." (altho i dont know why he said it, cus he's also just called himself a sad person... i wood have prefered sad git.. but thats just me.. "Just Kidding Locky relax mate")

Or is it that he's trying to say that our posts are to long... like i know he ant gonna read this, cus its to long... awwww... poor baby, altho he really doesnt have any excuse.. as im dyslexic.. so i know how hard it is to read threads liek these... otherwise he cudnt be bothered cus there is to much BITCHING going on, witch is more reasonable

So it boils down to ppl not bothering to read threads cus of the bitching.. but instead post absolute crap in the thread.. an make it worse

an yet again... ive lost my train of thought...:'( witch totaly sucks tits cus i was on a god dam roll... BAH!! <sigh> go about ur business.. ill regain it sometime an edit this post... or make another one, i dont know.. i dont care, GOD DAMMIT!!

*EDIT*

Cheers cryn... well done on makin me feel like a compelte retard... to tell the truth.. i think i skipped the post where that was explained.... sorry for shouting at u mate... u have permission to give me a verbal slap when we meet ok lol.. or online (witchever u prefer)

altho... now that i think about it... an i know this is actually a COMPLETE mind fuck up but ive just noticed something, anybody else realize that maybe is all misunderstandings? i mean the tone of voice cant be heard (obviously) over the net so when jokes brake out they are taken seriously until told otherwise, cud also be the reason why everybody takes me serious ingame (besides from the fact that i actually am)

sorry.. nobody has to actually read that last part.. but its in there as a simple thought, ANYWAY the reason for the edit is to say sorry to cryn for me being a total dick towords him, sooo.. sorry cryn

Let me explain a couple of things and let me keep my mouth shut for a while then cos its obvious that whatever I say is being missunderstood.
I have no hidden meaning with this thread. If I would seriously have a problem with Peat i would Pm him like I did in the past. Peat is a person he tries to find things in convo's that arent there to find. Maybe a bit paranoid, but arent we all. So after sleeping this through I do realise that my quote in my first post can be seen as an attack/flamebait or whatever you wana call it. My appologies for that. I used that quote cos it was the first thing that popped in my mind. I had already decided NOT to respond to it in the other thread. Why would I go through all the trouble to respond to that quote in a diffrent thread. (made by myself)
As to me and Gandelf ... some things need to be cleared up it seems. I once made the mistake to post something private I wont do it again, tho it can save my name.
Gandelf has been known to stir things up, he even admitted doing that. A lot of ppl are fed up with it ... diffrence with them and me is that I opened my mouth about it and another diffrence is the fact that I'm a mod. (prolly not for long anymore)

Yes me and Peat have a friendship, a weird one but its still a friendship. Same with Gandelf, after all the things he did I dont hate him or hold a grudge, he just found a way to get under my skin. And he knows that.
With Peat its diffrent, we both have strong personalities and that seems to come into conflict once in a while.

So once again, no hidden meaning with this thread. Just curious on how ppl as an individual think about: to speak or not to speak.
I thought it was intresting to know, maybe i was wrong.

My personal opinion and they way I behave is pretty much like this.

If it´s an obvious flamebate by someone that only likes to ruin threads, discussions etc I just ignore. No meaning to feed that kind of ppl in any way.

If it is a person that comes with certain statements/views about something that he belive is correct from his point of view I will have a discussion about that until it starts being a flame war.

I love having discussions so I never back out of one until the discussion is over or have gone over to a classic flame war.

My personal opinion is that this thread has permanently lowered my IQ by about 10 points.
Not the thread itself but many of the replies.
Just full of personal attacks with hardly a worthwhile argument in it anywhere.
/Lock it & move on IMHO.
Waste of space.
& I've lowered my IQ by another 10 points by replying to it =/

From my personal perspective it makes no difference if someone is a moderator or not. Either things are acceptable or not. As far as mod posting goes they should be treated the same as everyone else neither any better or any worse.

Like Oohoo said, this thread is horribly hypocritical, some people are bitching at the likes of Satyn claiming she's on a personal mission against Gandelf when in fact they themselves are clearly no less guilty of being on a personal mission against Satyn.
If I was bearing a grudge from in game towards someone and making posts from it, I'd expect it to be considered unacceptable. The fact Satyn is a mod makes it even worse to me.
Unless you're willing to start paying mods wages, you're not in any position to claim what mods can and can't do, it's a volunteer position, whatever she posts on the forum has no effect on her ability to move posts and so on. It's rarely, if ever Satyn that takes moderator actions such as locking threads or banning anyone so suggest her moderator status has anything to do with this is stupid, not to mention beating a very, very dead horse, in fact, a horse so dead that it's probably decayed entirely and that's not even a horse left to beat.

I can see why you'd say that Beli, and do agree on one level. Treating everyone the same seems fairest and black and white rules probably works best. However, there IS a difference between a moderator and a normal user. Moderators police other users. They have the power to enforce the rules that have been set for us. It doesn't work in the other direction - we can't enforce the rules for them. Giving someone those extra powers often leads to people wanting them to be above reproach, or at the very least to demonstrate more responsibilty than other users.

I don't think it's a good idea to open up the whole moderator discussions again. They were sorted a while back I thought. I wasn't trying to do that when I made my comment in the other thread.
