You've already made up you're mind, Sat. You decided to reply by creating this thread. It's a more oblique response, but it's a response. And also, though carefully worded, it is also pretty obviously an attack on me, since it insinuates that I was trying to make an inflammatory post.

For the record, the post you quoted was my attempt NOT to flame you. I wanted to comment, because I was kinda disgusted to see a moderator attacking Gandelf in the thread in question, but at that time I tried to avoid being too blunt, which apparently was pointless since you still view it as inflammatory.

I don't wanna start an argument, but it's hard to see someone bullied and stand by. Gandelf gave his opinion on stealth and you basically told him his opinion on every subject was worthless, then Thand came in to hammer the point home. And it didn't stop with one post each either.

If you recall, a while back I had a problem with what I thought was heavy-handed moderation. Every time a discussion even looked like it would contain conflict, you came into the thread and asked people play nice, etc. Is it now fair for you to post something directly attacking Gandelf in a thread where all he did was give his harmless opinion? He didn't have a go at anyone, all he did was say what he thinks about the stealth game, and yet you and Thand were pretty insulting to him. If it had been say ... me and Ovi ... involved instead of you and Gandelf, isn't that exactly the sort of thing you'd have come in and told us to keep it nice?

In the case where the post is set up to annoy you, but is devious enough to look harmless to other people then it is best to disappoint the poster's efforts and not reply.

I kinda like that tbh, it's what i'm doing atm .

Really? And you honestly believe that?

Because if it is true that Satyn didn't view my post as flamebaiting, I would wonder:

1) Why she made her post about flamebaiting directly after I made my post?
2) Why she quoted my post if it is not relevant to the point she was making?
3) Why she didn't quote a post that she DID think was flamebaiting instead of mine?

It's easy to say you're not having a dig at someone at the end of a post, but that doesn't undo what you've said in your post.

What if I made a post like:

I was wonder what people think about this little theory "Cryn smells. He smells really bad. It's like he hasn't washed. I think he lives in a hamster cage and snuggles with hamsters but doesn't use the hamster bath."

Oh by the way, in case anyone gets the wrong idea, it's not that I think Cryn smells or anything.

This whole thread is aimed at drawing attention to the comment I made about Thand and Sat. To pretend otherwise is silly.

Why don't we all just let move on? Maybe in future if we are looking for strategies to avoid inflammatory posts, we could refrain from bringing personal grudges into the forum? Like, if there was an issue in game between two people, maybe it would be a good idea if they didn't suddenly go from being friendly toward each other on the forum to picking holes in everything the person says.

i too have used the same sort of thing in kallima's thread. Used a quote from vegit @ kesxex even though i didnt intend for it to be taken wrong its just it was the quickest example i had to hand.
I personally truely believe satyn didnt view that particular post as flamebaiting.

I can remember a time on pryd.net when people didn't care if somebody disagreed with them on forum, now everybody seems so defensive and takes stuff immediately to heart.

I have just read through the other thread to see what the fuss is about and I must confess to agreeing with Cryn (Yes it does happen ).

Gandelf did not deserve the double-teaming he got, the comments where not single post arguements against his Point of view but a concerted and sustained attack, clearly driven by events outside the forum.

Agreeing with Cryn again, it is obvious Satyn considered his post to be flamebaiting, in fact she thinks "it's a perfect example"! In my opinion either say what you want to say, and stand behind what you said or don't bother saying it.

Saying something and then trying to back out of it 4 posts later certainly isn't the best option!

no she was using the post not as an example of a flame bait but as an example of the two ways that post could go. If she had thought it was a flame bait then she would have simply given him a piece of her mind satyns no wuss she can give and take loads so if she had felt the need she would have done so-simple as that.
She didnt therefore its obvious she didnt however she did want to ask a question (like kallima did ((soz gwen for keep mentioning you :kallima:))) on how people view certain posts.
