To speak or not to speak

Post by Satyn »

I'm wondering something, and i would like some opinions about it.
For excample person A says something about person B that can be seen as flamebaiting. Is it wise from person B to respond to it? I think not BUT I was thinking today, if that person doesnt reply cant it be seen as saying that person A was right?

I think i'm confusing things a bit but got a perfect example in my mind.
I've mentioned my dislike for stealth plenty of times before, and never got people hassling me the way Sat and Thand just double-teamed Gandelf. Where's all the hate come from? Does someone have an axe to grind from outside this discussion or something?
Ok ... so I have some options here.

1. I dont respond to it ... but can that be seen as saying that the person is right?

2. I do respond to it ... but then I actually give in to the persons request with the chance of a never ending debate/bitching session.

This was just an example, i'm just wondering how other ppl think about situations like this one. If its in game, or on the forums doesnt really matter. Is it smarter to stay silent or ?

personally.. id go for just shut up.. and bounce the comment off.. but that may be down to my ignorance for not finding it worthy of a response.. but other times i suppose you have to stand up for yourself you just have to pick the moment and decide if its really worth the effort, in most cases i usually start to reply and just backpage and think nah cba with this BS.. and move on and then ignor the post or just follow it.. usually changes direction if u dont respond then you get to watch someone else take the hassle..

I can remember a time on pryd.net when people didn't care if somebody disagreed with them on forum, now everybody seems so defensive and takes stuff immediately to heart.

it's the inet, it's a game... grow up?
