Why (in my opinion) buffbots are wrong...
i have 2 accounts on the toa servers that equals
1 main account 1 bot account,
However my main account has my shaman, valkyrie, bonedancer and my second account has my warlock, and augmentation healer (50 aug for red haste + red clerity)
On glast that translates to technically
2 main accounts my second account is now being loaned to a friend so they can join me from america on glast also if they wanted too they could technically respec my augmentation healer to a full pac healer and thus we would get some cc for midgard (chances are we wont return to excal but will see after 1.81)
On glast ive yet to load up as a double bot account because
1. i cant be bothered to group with a cleric bot
2. it is only worth having a cleric once they get the heal proc at 35 (a long way away)
i may yet use my second account on glast to powerlevel up a second necromancer and thus provide powerlevel facilities on my main account.
However im paying double the amount people with 1 account do which means that i gain the added benefit of being able to if i want DUO with myself (ok its not very friendly) however the problem with playing a necromancer is that no matter if im the lowest in the group or the highest when ever i group with anyone who isnt my mateys i sit there and think "im powerleveling this group" so in reality i dont want to group with anyone but myself on glast. I have grouped before and every time i have grouped even with guildies i feel im doing all the work.
However trust me a bot account even if you dont use it as a bot account is handy in both transfering moneys around accounts, providing access to all three realms, inviting a friend to play and they borrow my second account. (been trying but my mates adicted to city of heroes) its a good advertisment to friends as welll i can say well if you want you can borrow (heretic,valkyrie,vampire,warlock,banshee) and see what the catacombs classes are like and he liked the look of the vampire. However my bot account is also my account that has access to the goa test servers which means that i can be testing on the internal servers and still be able to log in my main.
2 accounts is handy and not only provide you with a bot account (any other class to duo with) but it gives you access to 2 housing plots + you can technically double craft at the same time. Its handy and yes it gives you a bonus, but would it really effect me if goa said "btw we arnt allowing you to duel log 2 accounts" not really because i would just build myself a second computer out of spare parts and duel log that way.

Midgard : Cavewark(sham), Augwark(healer), cursiara(warlock), mistieral(valkyrie)
Hibernia : Bastilia (vamp)

Exactly the same view could be taken from the other side though Gandelf , asking or stopping someone who is paying 2 or 3* the monthly subs from using their other accounts at the same time could also be said to be inconsiderate .Gandelf wrote: With buffbots, it's just one person running several accounts on the same server simultaneously. Altho with all this chatting an all i find that id like to goto the pub an drink lots, but becuase its xmas time the pubs will be full an they wont let me in the front door, so does that mean i just forget about it an walk away? or do i try another pub?
Take into my a pub is sorta like a server... they give a service to the ppl that use it in exchange for there time... and soberness..
but i still think its wrong to use a buff bot, cus technically unless ur a VERY skilled player an able to use both accounts at once then the bot really isnt considered a player at all, its just standing there not moveing... and what happens to players that stand there an do nothing?.. there auto-logged out, but i suppose when u use a bot its considered a charactor.. and ur main charactor is not considered a player, but then again.. does that apply to ppl who are AFK? no.. no it doesnt.. cus an AFK person uses 1 account while he other person uses 2, i believe its written sumwhere that u can only use 1 account at a time... (again unless ur VERY skilled an able to use both at once..)
Anyway.. i probably talking through my arse.. so enough of that

Maybe they ought to do what they do in WoW, where if a character is idle for a given amount of time it is automatically logged out?
I think that would be the fairest system to use, as not only would it log out characters who went afk for ages, but it would also log out buffbots who stayed in the same spot, like the outside of Frontier keeps.
The only problem with the above though, is when /stick is used, to either keep buffbots or afk players on the move.
