IMO, post in Main and leave a closed shortcut post in Tech help.

That way any discussion is kept in one thread, the shortcut thread will gain long life from being in tech, and the thread in main will die as and when people stop replying.

To semi-quote from my favourite film (Highlander for anyone who doesn't know)...

It's better to burn out on the main forum, than to fade away in tech help :D

Satyn once advised me to drink out of the bottle instead of the glass as I kept finding the glass was empty.

Worked ok and saved some washing up but for some reason I got some funny looks when I tried it in a restaurant.:stupid:

Just bare in mind that mods aren't here as servants, they're here as volunteers and if they decide to take some action don't post with some assumption that they've done it with some hidden motive when they've in fact done it in an attempt to improve the forums. No mod here takes any moderator action with the intention of being difficult or causing trouble so posting with an attitude that can be likened to bitching at them isn't particularly appreciated.

Sure have a discussion if you think things on the forum should be organised differently but do it in a pleasant manner rather than being arsey about it. Keep in mind that this forum is here primary to aid communication of the Hibernia/Prydwen community be it people from hib/pryd past, present or future and that you're here as guests and don't have some specific right to be here. Moderators and Admins are the ones keeping the forums running, certainly some more so than others (Ayana with the servers, Banana with the domain and such) but collectively if you leave these people with a feeling of apathy towards the forums then you're compromising the forums well being.

I'm not asking people to bow down to mods, I'm certainly not asking anyone to have any consideration towards me personally, I think everyone knows by now I really don't give a shit about what people think of me but what I am asking is that people just have a little more consideration and thought for the other mods and admins here and preferably everyone on the forums in general, even if their opinion is different to yours you have to accept that it IS their opinion and even if they're a mod they're fully entitled to it, perhaps they're open to change on that perhaps they're not but the tone of the posts usually gives that away and hence gives you an idea of when to stop bitching.

Finally, just as an example, let's take this thread, we've got a starting post that really sounds like bitching about moderator actions followed by more, what we should instead see is a PM to a moderator or moderators asking it be moved back with clear justification, what we could also have as a result is a debate in the off-topic forum as to whether the forum organisation is the best or whether it should be re-arranged.
