I realise you said "worst case" but honestly I think this comment is a bit warped. From what Req said, there is a very strong chance that that XML wasn't even being worked on last week. It's now practically done with. If the next patch trails the US one by 6 months, the week spent on XML won't be responsible, will it?Ovi wrote:Worst case all the time spent on XML delays the next patch I guess, not that we would know, but I am sure when the patch is released 6 months after the US patch there will be plenty of whine on that too.
Also, it is worth bearing in mind that the US manage to create the patches from scratch and keep the XML working. If GOA's set up leaves us with the choice of a massive delay on patches or working XML, something is wrong.

Whilst workig on the patches they update the xml at the same time or something as there are changes to the xml every patch.
Cuz goa have to work on the translation already would take longer per patch to include the xml.

I'm not saying anything about how long each side of things should take. I don't have that information, so that would be wrong. All I am saying is that changes to the XML go hand in hand with patches, so should be part of the whole thing.Banana wrote:requiel mentioned that before

When a patch changes the structure of the metadata or some aspect of how it is built, Mythic have to make those changes in their XML as well as designing, coding, and testing their patches. I don't really see why it should be different for GOA.

If you expect any company to give you enough information to know exactly what all their plans are for their staff then I think you are being somewhat Naive.
Communication isn't good enough, but at least we should have realistic expectations of it!
It was a little warped as it is the only thing I could think of at the time, and still is. I honestly cannot see any reason why XML should be down for more than a week or so after each patch, but as I said I don't know enough details to know why Goas plans always make it take longer.Cryn wrote:I realise you said "worst case" but honestly I think this comment is a bit warped. IIRC, Req said it was because Goa are responsible for the XML, but the actual coding for the pathces is done by Mythic. That means Goa cannot start looking at the xml until the final code for the EU version is in place.Cryn wrote:I'm not saying anything about how long each side of things should take. If it takes 2 months after a patch for xml to be working, then tbh Goa and Mythic need to sort out a better alternative, can't lay the blame at goa completely for this one, usual 3-sided story applies (Goas, Mythics & the truth).
