good image editors
anyone know of any free image editors that have no silly 30day trials? I need one to convert from tif to jpg format to reduce file sizes. I need it quite urgently - for this afternoon if possible.

The Gimp - its open source, from the unix/linux community but has a windows binary as well. It's easily as good as PSP.

Paint.NET 2.5 was released just recently, and is looking quite good I might add.

The problem with MS Paint is that you have no control over image optimization, such as JPEG compression, when saving in a different format. Which is why something like Irfanview is much better. Since it's free a small download, it's worth having.Quinlan wrote:Well the ultimate free one which is able to convert and easy to get would be Paint...
