Frankly I don't need to do this. I have tried to be open and honest, I've passed on the information that I've been given and I've always attempted to do my best for the community. Being continually called a liar, being told I don't care and having to continually rebut the same misinformation over and over again is not something I particularly want to deal with and nor should I have to. I get involved in forums to help the community, I don't feel that I have to do that anymore if the community is being offensively hostile.
We have official communication channels. Those channels are Rightnow and direct communication with GMs ingame. If you have queries in future you can direct them there. I shall also continue to monitor and respond on FH. I shall no longer be participating in this forum.
Firstly I have never called you a liar. All I have said is that to use the phrase "soon" on GOA's official database covering the XML issue when there is no official timescale to sort this out is misleading.
Secondly you state that the offical channels for comments are RN or ingame. Imo this issue does not warrant diverting either RN's attention or a GM's attention away from other issues such as restoration or game bugs. Sadly your stance suggests that the only way hib-pryd players can make their feelings known and get a response is via these methods. I am sure neither you or RN will be best pleased if we all start bombarding you in game or RN with requests for a date when XML is going to be sorted out.
Yes the community is angry. XML is just a side issue as far as I can see. Bigger issues are database corruption, it's after effects, the lag we all seem to be suffering in NF (regardless of country or PC set up) following a cluster that a number of people were not happy with and a number of other issues.
I do feel sorry for you as you are the front line, the messenger for GOA and therefore can only deliver the message. Don't shoot the messenger is something we all need to remember but to throw your own toys out of the pram and deny a passionate and loyal community a line of communication is a bit daft.
I have been saying it for a while now and it stands the test of time. GOA have an official web site where it posts official notes. They need to read these forum and speak to players to get a feel for the issues we are interested in and make a relevant and honest comment on that site. The term "soon" for a system that has an official link that does not work and has no obvious fix is not honest and not fair on the players who regard this as important.
Do you have to rebut the same info over and over again - well imo no because a lot of people are asking different questions, sadly all we seem to get is the same response no matter what the question.
For a number of players GOA has a bad reputation, whether you think that is justified or not is beside the point. If it has a bad rep then it needs to re-build it not ignore the players or throw a wobbly and refuse to comment on a legitimate forum. Ignoring it will cause even more players to leave. Not sure the game can take too many more decent and popular players leave through frustration.
