I quoted that in its entirety. Sanya was saying they are unsure of why GOA made a change like that and why, but that the poisonspike should be useable in combat. to paraphrase, also GOA saying that they will have to change it back is an admittance that they got it wrong.

GoA also included that they thought it was a bug alongside the bug where multiple spikes could be placed (which is the one that was meant to have been fixed)

Don't wanna bash Requiel about anything but (quoting 2 diff posts by him) "Because at the time we were led to believe that Mythic were going to make this change." clashes with "As you should very well know Takit, we don't change things like that because we 'think' it needs fixing. I'm sure you can remember any number of bugs reported by you and other E&Es that had to wait for Mythic to either fix or sanction our fix, that's an inviolable rule and we never, ever change things liek that on our own initiative."; if u are led to believe something means u are thinking something would happen but in fact not, so there was no clear path that led to fixing that "bug" imo.

Anyway, guess it was poor thinking on consequences of a good intention.
Ya know, sometimes one can grab some balls and say, "soz folks, we intended to fix summat, but we overlooked the problem and made a mistake", or not? :s

not aimed at this specific post, but some people clearly seem to have loads of aggro towards GoA...but what I cant understand is if you got so much aggro why you still hang around? Same goes to alot of people who quit daoc and still hang around in the forum repeating 'thank god I quit' (well, kind of anyway). Not defending goa or saying what the main post was about is right/wrong..just something I thought I'd mention :)

Couldn't Requiel's time be better spent replacing items than having to answer pointless posts that are just made to cause trouble ?

causing trouble or asking for reasons/explanations

I guess its subjective... but as a paying customer I expect my supplier to answer some questions from time to time.

Ankhs,

maybe its because they like people here and like to keep in touch? I am sure you don't mind people coming along and posting even if they are long gone - after all Xest is a mod and he no longer uses the same service that a lot of us use. Maybe he had the courage of his convictions? They hang around because they like the group of people here and well a good few of them do bring a lot of positive things to the forums :)

I honestly do not mind posts to the effect of 'the grass is always greener' because well I still enjoy playing here despite all the imperfections of the service. Last night was an exception but then it wasn't GOA's fault and to be frank recently I get a sense that they are being more open with us than they have been and that helps.

Sharkith

p.s. I hope all runs smoothly tonight :).
