Accepting files from random people gets you there, you're to blame, not the program.
Of course we're all supposed to be experts aren't we when we do something for the first time.
Dont you have to have some kind of flags or something to prevent people knackering channels and stuff? Ie some kind of protection set up. I do know I was in a channel and some unknown idiot used some hack and locked out the channel and all the people ended up having to clear a trojan. I dont recall accepting a file either, probably hacked that too. Went something like randomtard@lookimgrowinghairsroundmyscroat has sent \@$"148e to the channel. "You cannot enter the channel Channel doesnt exist" Warning norton has detected the trojan tardAruleshisownbrain.exe
That wasnt on pryd.net, was on some Us Football online server that shared with quake and stuff.
My experience of the pryd irc stuff was via the ascending dawn channel which as Naicara says was handy, but the grieifing from enemy players wasn't worth logging in to hear. I recall some Mael/Bo guys coming in to offer their words of wisdom and thought I'd delete the program.

No need to waste the oxygen here etc..
