This thread is starting to get rather useless Imo -_- the update info and links is enough imo.

Childish comments back and forth is not helping much really.

If by such terms you mean that I am a GOA "fanboi" then you are sorely mistaken. I am a fan of the game yes however I remain one of GOA's harshest critics, what I do however do is reserve my criticism for the proper time and place, neither of which are here.

As for calling me an idiot... hardly the level of inteligent insult I would have expected from somebody using the term "fanboi"... oh sorry I stand corrected.

It seems that english is not your first language so I will refrain from comment and ripping your comments apart completely.

As for why I make posts... it is because I have a point. You on the, other hand, do not. With your failure to properly explain yourself that is truly apparent.

As I suggested please reread my past posts where I stated clearly that GOA's communitation is far from ideal and requires a major improvement I did also state that it is currently vastly improved from what it once was... or were you too lazy and self absorbed to actually read the past posts to which I referred?

If you have put me on ignore so be it but an inteligent and well thought out reply after reading my earlier posts again would be a most welcome change from the type of posts that I have seen from you as yet.

Take it easy man, I can see where you are coming from and the hassle you are getting =/ I agree that the criticism and sniping is not good and that the whole situation is far from ideal. Cool it peeps, it's a game, there is real life out there.

But I think its you who misunderstod me...the first part was nothing about bragging at all and also not at all what my post was about. My post was about Fact's and Rumors. Dunno if you read the rest of my message but you proberbly should.
What I was trying to say to you (which you obviously didnt understand) was that you should stay away from rumours and read the quotes we had from GM's (which at the time was the only info we had and still is).
I'm sorry if you misunderstod the point with the post but I hope you get it now

Edit: I happen to be in the same situation as you as im 100% hibernian from day 1 of the server opening.

Edit2: Sorry about this banana, but I thought I better explain myself as he seem to have misunderstod me.

[30-08-2005] Progress on Prydwen

The cause of the issues affecting Prydwen have now been identified. File corruption has been discovered in several hundred character inventories and we have been examining them one by one to purge the database, before beginning the tests and necessary checks preceding a server restart. This work explains the unusual period of server shutdown. There will naturally be compensation to Prydwen players for this unavailability and we are continuing to do everything that we can to get the server restarted as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience in the meantime.

does that mean that those with 'file corruption' have been using hacks or some sort of 'hax' program like duplicating... cos then surely they wil also get banned like the '100' or so list they proudly boasted about banning - ironically prior to the whole issue of no server!!

well trust GoA to conk up my great come back ... and to all of you ... how much i have missed you all!!!!!

I love the way Requiel said in his post "our server staff were working the whole weekend but were limited in what they could achieve"

and at the same time "every single working day except yesterday there has been an update"

So the server staff were there over the weekend but one of the things they couldn't achieve without Mythic was putting up a short post on the website? It would be less annoying if they hadn't during the same period managed to put a post on the website advertising Darkness Rising.

True, that's kinda double standards Peat, I can see where you are getting at but if the job at hand is more pressing than posting updates while attempting to keep a level of interest and anticipation for (darkness rising) those wanting to still keep playing. It does leave a double sided coin to the issue of the customer and the retailer tbh :x

They say corrupt database in some chars was the cause
They say they going through each one manually
They say theres a few hundered
This will take weeks (not days) to go through each one thouroughly, think about it: Vaults/CM's/Invents

They may NEVER find the cause.. If you remember almost everyone was getting bad lag before this happened & they tried a re-start of the server but still same prob, this points to hardware more than player databases tbh, & if they are still trying to find the cause of corrupted databases...maybe they should start with hardware instead of going through each corrupted database manually.

Rollback is the only solution imo but why take so fkin long, surely they back up databases which are clean?

imo theres more to it than "corrupted player databases" as they call it.

More like crap hardware
