ML 1.1 farming

Post by Maeloch »

Anyone know why/if it's necessary to kill Zopuero (the mob that summons the flying candles) when farming ML1.1?

Often when doing the encounter I find it's easier just to ignore him, meleeing down Sunkaio and moving straight on to Aithos. This seems to give encounter credit - I've got 1.1 credit for a few peeps like this - however, wonder if messes up chance of immolated drops.

On a side note, I cba to arrange anything formally, but I'll be farming it when it's free in the evenings over the next few days and could prolly use a cold/spec nuker to speed things up, if anyone wants to join just PM me in game.

Not sure to be honest, when youve done it that way do you get any drops at all? Should get a Briny drop every time - if your not getting that then you not gonna get any of the fixed drops.

Also if you got an non heat nuker in the group, they can start on the flame things as soon as you start on the first mob - they will end up dropping at the same time that way.

Will ask the GMs. Technically I don't think you should be able to kill Sunkaio without killing Athios.

Purros (candles) dont appear till after you have killed Sun.

No idea what happens if you ignore zop, but given that the broadcast at the end is something like "well done to completing the challenge, Aithos has dropped your reward" i cant see them letting you complete the ML step without killing him.

What happens when u kill Aithos is Zop just dies/depops and you get the broadcast + credit as normal.

This is incorrect, the candles appear when you are in agro range, if your nuker stays near the base of the steps they will pop as soon as Sun is in combat.

Beginning to sound like it doesn't really matter to kill Zop, I asked cos I've chained the island 15-20 times previous and never seen anything but RoGs drop. Mebbe just unlucky.

On a side note, reason I started ignoring Zop is when I tried to kill him Aithos would always start bolting me when Zop was on about 30%. Happened a few times, then I thought why not just go straight for Aithos (all this with a charmed sally ofc).
