Resort to what? Swearing people swear all the time of the forums, and thats how i interput what others are saying just in much longer paragraphcs and politer words but in the end meaning the same thing.

And the point of my last post, was to sum up what some people are saying. I have no problems with any of the people who have said that and hope not to have any problems with them in the future. My point is; Point said, Amedors still looking for people if they want credit, and imo lets leave it to amedor and anyone else to post who wants to go. If not then shouldnt the thread by locked.

Mate, whats your problem? i didnt say it was minority or majority i merely said that people swear all the time and no one else says anything. There was a post before mine with MUCH worse swearing in it, yet you didnt comment on that.

Why do you think I have a problem? I didn't ask you that just because you responded to my post. You replied to my post and as such the comment was related to yours. healthy debate is what forums are about, not getting aggrevated purely because some one else's opinion is at odds with your own.

i am not "aggrevated" about what you said, i to enjoy a helpful debate and if we all had the same opinions then the world would be very boring indeed. Ok fair enough about not mentioning the other swearing as you are right i was responding to you. And saying that some people thought Amedor was a "farming Bas...." is much easier then going on for a few paragraphs about what others think of him when its already been said.

Oh and just to be clear, my comments arnt aimed at Amedor in any way, but are just a general response to other posts.

Monopoly profits (in the economic sense) only really apply when the producer can increase production and they don't cos they don't want the price to drop. In this case, the producers cannot increase production (and if they can, then they are not hogging the mob 24/7). This is selling a finite commodity and competition or not, the price will end up the same (unless you think farmers are holding back artis to push up the price)

For example, say you have a monopoly in widgets that cost EUR 20 to make and can sell them as follows (lower price gives you more customers):

1000 @ EUR 50 (profit = 30k)
2000 @ EUR 40 (profit = 40k)
3000 @ EUR 30 (profit = 30k)
4000 @ EUR 20 (profit = 0k)

You will set your price at EUR 40, this means that people who would have paid EUR 30 (and still given you a small profit) cannot buy from you. If there was competition (or even the threat of competition), then you would have to sell them at EUR 25 ish or you would sell 0 and everyone would buy from your competitor.

Back to the case at hand, say GOA stopped all the arti mobs from popping and gave everyone credit for all the encounters, and they decided to create an arti every time a mob would have popped. If they then auctioned the artis, you would end up with the same resultant prices (well except that it would count as a money sink, so people would have less money).

NP Bourk, u know i respect u matey, in game or out. My threads after my initial one were just repsonses, debate, whatever. Both side have surely put their points across, so I sahll say no more.

And I do feel that I need to justify my rights in farming these mobs. When I started three was absolutely no Crocodile Tooth daggers on the Market Explorer, and the price for the Battler artifact was around 5plat.

Now.. after around a month since I got ml9 on Amedor, I have farmed Battler and Itet numerous times and I have provided Hibernia with loads of new artifacts that wouldn't have been around if I didn't bother due to some people here saying that farming artifacts is wrong. Luckily enough the Crocodile Tooth drops nearly every run, which helps people if they did kill Itet and it didn't drop and they couldn't get a group to do it again.

And I agree, and know that the more supply, the lower the demand on artifacts. As I said, when I started Battler was worth 5plat.. now its worth less then 1.9plat. Crocodile Tooth was non existant on Market Explorer.. and now I have one on my CM ready for someone if they needed it.

But in a way, I also agree with some of your views that artifact farming is wrong. Hate it when people would just do Eramai to sell the cloak, or Danos, Night Terror .. and there are many more. The two mobs that I choose to farm I feel aren't farmed enough, so I am just trying to broaden the number of items which drop from them, mainly the Croc Tooth artifact and the many battler sleeves. In a way this will provide more of these, so more people can get them, and the price would slowly drop as less people would be in need of them.
