Most pwnage language is Älvdalska(small place in sweden), got a friend whos girlfriend who is from there. Is like 600 ppl in the world that speaks it fluently so funny to listen to when she talk since you have no fucking idea what shes going on about, she do speak regular swedish aswell. It was a dialect(not sure if this is the right term) at first but since it have so little common with actual swedish it got classed as a language of its own a while back.

yes but you have to exclude people who don't speak english, like scousers and geordies etc, so maybe 57 million is accurate enough?Xest wrote:Those numbers regarding population of the UK at least are definetely a good few years out of date - the UKs population has passed 60million now, it was around 59.5 million in early 2003.
If you exclude people who don't speak English in the UK then I guess like, 10 million is probably more accurateclearbrook wrote:yes but you have to exclude people who don't speak english, like scousers and geordies etc, so maybe 57 million is accurate enough?

We have the same thing with turks here. A lot of turkish people living in Germany, especially the elder ones, do not even intend to learn German. Was some debate here if you have to speak German to obtain german citizenship... most of their children though do learn German one anothe way as they are visiting german schools, so hopefully that problem will solve itself.
Btw. the numbers I found were 2005 numbers from a french statistics institute... and of course Russian isn't an EU language... Russia isn't in the EU, but it still is in Europe of course.
