[quote="Adianna"]Well not from the games point of view I'd advise anyone within Europe to learn at least one more European language than English, preferably French, Spanish or German. ]
Just to add some figures to that, the top 3 most spoken languages are:
1) Mandarin
2) Spanish
3) English

So I guess Spanish would probably be the best bet ;) French is actually pretty low down beneath things like German, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic.

Usually I just drive trough the entire country without stopping omw to Spain.
Well, assuming you had a server with say 20% English speakers, automatic translation would help alot for communication between the two groups. Like I said it is the simple things like group invites etc that would need to be translated.

Yeah I found it exactly the same in the French parts of Canada. The whole of Canada has dual English/French signs and the people are nearly all bi-lingual except the French parts which are purely French and look down on you if you don't speak French to them, it's pretty stupid tbh.

Kindly quote where I stated that Mandarin is spoken in europe? The fact I said Spanish would be the best bet kinda hints at my realisation that Mandarin isn't spoken in europe, because otherwise I'd have said Mandarin would be the best bet. It's really not that hard to comprehend.

Seems like some people are struggling to even understand English in this thread right now :p Should sort that out before they start on other languages imo.

If you really want to discount ever using the languages outside of Europe by the way, German becomes the best choice after English:

http://europa.eu.int/comm/education/pol ... ex_en.html

So if you only ever intend to talk to Europeans you should go for English, German, French, Italian, Spanish in that order.

If you want the best languages to cover anywhere in the world you should go for Mandarin (arguable - although its spoken by a lot its not as widely spread, i.e. is limited to less countries), Spanish (good choice), English (good choice).
