It would seem that the only way to get it transfered before months have passed is to get Tenpit involved. Persumably, if the old registrar requests the name to be transfered, they would do it much faster.

Basically, you can pass a domain to someone else. The person who is to get the domain name must create an account with godaddy.com first. Then the person who owns the domain name can use the web site to transfer the domain name to the other person. It also requires that the person getting the domain responds to their given email address (as typed by the old registrar).
It is likely to be alot faster than waiting for the back order thing. It would probably require that Tenpit re-register the domain name as it is in the cool off period (and probably pay for the year) and then transfer it to you. The yearly cost is something like EUR 10. It also has the added bonus that he could probably point the DNS to this server while the transfer is ongoing.
