this is the best thread in a long while. ("Manners" started by kesxex comes a close second mind) it has comedy, intrigue, sex, adventure, sex, some 50 people getting "f*cked" apparently, someone with a split personality disorder, and not once has anyone said anything about organising an ML2 pre req raid or some other. So really all i have to say on the matter is ... +1 and please more of these... can some people just make fake accounts and start accusing people and stuff? i think its better for us all with a good witch hunt once in a while. :bp:

Clean out the necessary posts yes but my post is not a direct flame on anyone in particular and you and your opinions dont need to be here.

It was a request.. I think that she's entitled to that.

I agree with her tbh.. this thread is little more than an attack against your fellow players by presuming that they are going to steal or ruin your raids and that you somehow have the right to threaten them before they have actually done anything.

To make matters worse, a number of small minded and often hypocritical people have used it as an excuse to start a witch-hunt.. an activity which they consider "fun" and have gone as far as to express genuine enjoyment for this cowardly and mob-handed activity.

These people are not interested in "truth" or "fairness".. to them these are just convienient words to justify persecution of someone for their own sick gratification.

I am not condoning theft, obstruction or anti-social behavior, nor am I saying that the culprits should be permitted to get away with it, however its customary to have a) a crime, and b) a criminal before begining a trial..

Furthermore its usually regarded as fair practice to present the evidence against an individual in a fair and unbiassed manner and permit them the opportunity to defend their actions before passing sentence upon them.

If it's *only* a request, then there is no need for bold, and the tone wasn't indicative of it being a request either. I also rarely encourage threads to be deleted. Closing a thread is a sign that the discussion is off-topic or not suitable for the particualr forum, but if the modding is timely it should not require the deletion of the thread.

From what I have read in the thread, the only people I can think you are reffing to as "closed-minded and often hypocrytical" are those that are making comments which on the whole should not be taken too seriously. It's a thing called humour!

You are right that they probably, in the grand scheme of things, are not interested in truth or fairness for the individual being accused. I would be fairly certain that they are interested in truth and fairness for themselves. As was said earlier threads such as this (or threads that actually name and shame anyway!) allow people to be made aware of individuals who may not treat them with truth and fairness.

Surely it is fair for us all to know who is possibly out to rip us off?

I think your analogy about it being customary to have a crime and criminal before the trial is also not applicable in this situation. The thread was started by Bugzy as a way to warn people that he won't tolerate certain type of behaviour on his raids. That is not instigating a trial.

The thread only started to turn into a trial after Xcerus put himself forward as a criminal, inviting the crime to be put to him. That being the case, the people putting the crime to him are quite justified in doing so, since that is what he asked for.

As to the opportunity to defend themselves, this is a forum and, as was pointed out earlier, the threads have a reply button for a reason.

If "crime" were hidden, and went unpunished then people would think they copuld get away with it, and more crimes would then be permitted. Not all that much different to the real world, although I suppose if found guilty in this case Xcerus won't be losing is freedom with a period in jail
