Lag on Prydwen is much worse than it is on Excal

[16-05-2005] Server maintenance tomorrow morning and on Wednesday morning for Prydwen only

Excalibur, Prydwen and Camlann will be shutdown on Tuesday at 10.30 AM for a maintenance, they will be back by the beginning of the afternoon. Prydwen will be shutdown on Wednesday at 10.30 too and the downtime will be a few hours.

Lets see what they do first.......

The server maintenance is nothing to do with lag. It's OS upgrades on the servers and some technical stuff to do with game binaries.

The thread indicates the subject matter, my post however was aimed at what GOA are doing first and the results afterwards. It was not meant at the lag, merely it was to indicate to some of those who use this forum what GOA is doing regarding this server to ensure GOA's message is read in a broader scale, as clearly there are some who use this forum and do not read GOA's homepage.

But while we are on the subject of lag, there still is no answer from you or GOA regarding a question I put to you earlier in this thread. Thanks for the information Requiel

It only gets cleaned up if there is someone to clean it up, otherwise you have to wait for the microorganisms to do their work of ingesting the shit, metabolising it and then excreting the shit they've made from shit.

Yes, I know we can't assume this lag is going to carry on for ever but after a week of it how many people can say they've enjoyed the game this week, and how many can say they've got value for money.

The one thing I always keep in mind about MMORPGs is that I pay my hard earned cash to play this game so yes I do expect top quality service EVERY time I log on. I accept that on occasions technical problems occur and I will give the provider a degree of slack on such occasions. I also value and respect the provider when they provide free days as compensation. However, what I do not expect or accept is that it takes so long to sort out a problem. Whilst I respect Requiel for coming onto these boards to communicate with us, I get no sense of urgency or a clear picture of when the problem will be resolved.

What I do wonder is whether GOA have in place, or should be thinking about, a back up techncial infrastructure that can be "switched on" when OT goes tits-up, which imho is far too often.

I do have experience on both WoW and US DAoC as frames of reference for lag issues and they do not lag as often as GOA DAoC does.

Ive enjoyed the game ive been playing and got value for money - but then again i have been playing sims2 university

Well, we did have this shite lag round christmas/januari but it got fixed...lets hope they pull it through this time too..

well
now ive got the alien abduction thing down yea

oh and only the guys can get pregnant when being abducted. Gals just get dropped back home.
Tis funy to see the family tree on the alien baby though

Trying to get my family of 5 kids (4 norm one alien) to teenage before i take em university though. Seems good but i havent played the expansion bit yet.
The stuff theyve added to the normal sims2 side is good though. Chinese food lasts about 2days and fills your sim up loads. Also they dont get fat eating one slice of cake like they used too..
And they have mobile phones and mp3 and crud like that!!

ooh and in the next expansion - nightlife - you can take your sim out to dinner and stuff and meet vampires
