I play the game for my own enjoyment not for yours or the mid I killed when he is on 80%hp and its not fair.

Why do FG's vs FG's find it neccessary to have thier "fair" fights in the middle of heavily populated areas, if it worries people so much go to 2000 feet down in the North sea.

I for one wish that there was a place where 8 vs 8 could go and keep the heck out of everybody elses way so they wouldnt whine. The problem is that almost all without exception have added or or killed "unfairly".

I had an open & frank discussion with several people from leet RVR guilds on Excal a while back, I asked them if they have ever added or killed a soloer, the answer was "Yes, but this is differant" they all seem to think that because they are now pure 8 vs 8 (And this is seriously up for debate) and they dont add.

To this date I have never found ANYBODY that claims to have never added (Or assisted, call it what you like) or out numbered a group and left them alone when its unfair.

Feel free to correct me if you one of these people but I'm pretty sure people you may have killed previously might have a differant story, maybe youre the first.

RVR guilds should understand that the soloer that they added on 1 year ago probably remembers the incident very well and has vowed to add on every single fight he sees the offending guild taking part in.

Having someone leech every single fight you have is not fun, you would find this out if you played a stealther at all. I picked a shade becuase i wanted the ability to pick my fights, and not be reliant on other people to help me get rp's. Greedy? no, practical? yes. Unfortunately for you, the DAoC endgame is getting RP's. Thats the whole point. Defending realms? Yes, but would you like to defend your realm with a bunch of rr1 people? not likely. Knowing that the time ive put into Pikeh and then getting kills is the main satisfaction for me, knowing that all the time ive spent was worth it. Im not a greedy person, maybe you will think this just becuase i ask for someone not to leech or get a little bit pissed off when someone jumps on a fight im winning easily. why? becuase at the moment finding a solo stealther is harder than a fully buffed dragon.

Ive recently got my VW 50, its a great char, probably the best class in the game for me. but can i get ANY solo action? not on your nelly. "make a PUG or summat then" - wanna face 2fg+add's with a non full PUG? not me. Ok, maybe i can go and PvE my vamp a bit more. Ok, so when she dings 50 ill be having to pick the same fights as my shade, 5+ albs adding every fight, basically playing a stealth class but without the stealth ability.

Unfortunatly even after an RR6 and RR3/4 stealther I still understand that I'm fair game for the FG's it always happens and I have learnt to deal with it.

ofc the end game is RvR. after ML's toaing, PvE, the thing we all get equipped for and ultimately play the game for, is PvP. The fact you play to have fun with friends (which i do as well) has nothing to do with DAoC Endgame.

I don't think that is entirely unfortunate for Cryn's point of View. If anything the unfortunate thing is for you, that some people can have fun without worrying about the RPs.

This comment kind of pissed me off, as your making out that im some kind of elitist tard. at what point did i actually say You cant have fun if you dont get RP's? in the last week or two ive probably had around 2 fights where the enemy was worth full RP's. .why? becuase i try to go for targets that if i killed them, the enemy would kind of get pissed off by. buffbots and such inside beno keep. resting casters, people planting a heal/power node's. All becuase i just enjoy getting /rudespams from annoyed albs. it shows i can piss them off and that makes more of a difference than killing some rr2 scout (which i also enjoy doing)

Yea - even as a pve player i like arpees. Mainly for the MCL ability on my casters But i put MLs above RP (cept for mcl maybe purge too..oh and perfect rezz <starts listing lots of ra> )
Fudge knows what the end game is wouldnt be here if i figured that out i guess

I do understand your goals, the fun of the kill, especially those kills that annoy etc. But you still don't seem to want to acknowledge the fact that not everyone plays DAoC for RPs, in fact there are people who don't even play for RvR

I have a number of level 50 characters, all of which had differing endgame goals. My main Drood was RP whore, my Ranger was solo PvP fun, my BM was PvE etc.

RvR is certainly the endgame for most people, but it is not the ONLY endgame for ALL people.

To me the biggest advantage of DAoC over most other MMORPGs was the fact that you have the choice. This brings with it the responsibilty to respect (and hopefully have some understanding of) other's choices and, to keep at least slightly on topic, treat everyone else with good manners.

ok sorry i didnt mean to sound harsh. Im not saying everyone plays DAoC for the Rp's. I know lots who dont go rvr and dont want to either, but im stating a fact, that rvr is supposed to be the endgame. its what getting ToA'ed up and ML'ed is all supposed to aim for.

RvR is the endgame. Getting RPs is one aspect of it, in the same way that getting XP is one aspect of PvE.

Now for me, trotting out and PvEing just to get XP is galling. A lot of the time I'm not having fun and that kind of goal-oriented play is the playstyle most prone to frustration (when something hampers you). I tolerated it though for one reason - to get to the endgame.

For me the endgame is where the fun starts properly, and that fun is having fights. If I turned it into the same kinda bean counting I hated during PVE and did nothing but try to accumulate some fairly meaningless points, I feel foolish.

Despite the way people often present things, the world isn't polarised between soulless RP chasers and realm defending do-gooders. Most people I play with are in the middle ground with me. They think getting RPs is nice, they like to see Hibernia on top, but most of all they want to have a laugh running around the frontier fighting enemies. When someone walks out from behind a bush after a fight and starts moaning about leeching and whatnot, it just brings people down.

We share the frontier. Sometimes you'll step on my toes and sometimes I'll step on yours. It's the nature of a shared environment. Getting angry over it is worse than pointless because it actually leaves you worse off than if you just shrugged on moved on.
