WTF is wrong with people
Actually, thinking about it, why do we need artefacts anyway?
When artefacts were first introduced, sure, they made a difference to those players who were the first to get them... for a while they were the "uber" ones. Then, as more players got artefacts the playing field "levelled", so that everything was more or less equal for everyone (not including new players and low level players).
So, really, artefacts are now mostly redundant. Sure, there are a few nice abilities that you can get from certain artefacts, but on the whole their impact on the game, especially in RvR has lessened, now that most players have artefacts that are fully levelled.
We therefore are back to square one. What will Mythic do next? Introduce "super-artefacts" or something? If they did, the same thing would happen again.
So, we should never have had ToA in the first place. They should have left things as they were in Classic DAoC. If they had, then the whole issue of "claiming" mobs and camping spawn areas for hours would never have happened.
I say turn back the clock... rollback the servers to SI at the most. Keep the best things from ToA and Catacombs like graphics etc, but devolve the game back to how it used to be and get rid of MLs and artefacts.

I'm inclined to agree with Gandelf. Artifacts have largely been a disappointment for me. The ones I use the most are the GoLM ress-sick cure, the health buff proc on RoUW, and the mezz/stun debuff on CB. Levelling DS and GSV is taking so long that even though I've had both for months now I've not yet unlocked any of their special abilities. The weapons from BoS are not the best in the game so are hardly used.
The things I do use most are the ML abilities but as these are only really usable in RvR they are a nice add-on but not an essential to the overall game experience.
So, having messed around with artis, I'm with Gandelf on this - are they really that much use any more?

And im shure alot of our enemies dont have artis at all , im thinking about all the low level albs and mids.
Arkaon / Karak-Norn
and plenty of other chars between 10 and 30
Just make everything 100% drop rate and a 1 hr respawn rate. Life would be so much better and I personally would not be contenplating (spelling) leaving camelot.
