Alobana, that is a sure fire way of getting yourself banned. If you go too far over the top and get reported to GOA then you can get a temporary or even a permanent ban. So, a friendly word of warning. Count to 10 before typing in such situations. The CoC doesn't allow people to type whatever they want or treat people in any way they want. Pure and simple.

Manners and respect is not merely a nice idea, its a fundamental condition of being allowed access to the game and as soon as anyone forgets that then they're the ones in trouble, not the adder or leacher.

Wrong assumption m8, there are a number of people who voted for no clustering at all.

Can't help that this kind of blanket assumption is what lies at the heart of some of the problems recently - people assuming that their way is the only way and that everyone sees things the same way.

Not having a go at you here Jupi, I just found myself being a little irked at the assumption that we all voted for the same thing.

Funny thing really. For a very long time this wasn't nearly as big an issue, as there were fuck all hibs in the frontier anyhow and no one needed to tip-toe about each other so much.

re: Manners - irony is, from a practical PoV, they tend to work better than anything else. A sarcastic comment or 'FUCK OFF ADDING!' in caps doesn't really fill peeps with enthusiasm to do what you want them to do.

Don't really see the big deal either way. Good fights are something to look forward to, not a birth-right to expect on every run imo. I normally die about 1-2 times a night cos of friendly adds breaking mez and stuff while soloing, most of them prolly only trying to help - sometimes it's annoying, but if I told 'em all to piss off, they'd prolly follow me about and add on every run.

Okay, so maybe you are thankful if they add when you were going to lose, and in that case, 100 arpes are better than nothing, but only in that situation. call me greedy or whatever, i dont want to take 10x longer getting an rr due to the fact someone added every fight and i only got 100 or so rp's.
The problem I have with both of these is that it means that the object of firing up the game would be to increase your RPs. That might sound reasonable on the face of it, but if I wanted to see a number get bigger and bigger, I might as well fire up an app that shows my age in seconds.

The motivator to play this game or any game for me is fun. That means having the fight is the bit that counts for me, not dinging a realm rank. Sure, dinging a realm rank is briefly satisfying but then so is completing a project at work and you wouldn't catch me paying a monthly subscription for the pleasure of going there every day.

If I run out, have a fight and enjoy it, I don't give a stuff how many realm points I got for it. Adding can get in the way of enjoying fights sometimes, but so can the stipulation not to add, so you might as well relax about the whole subject. Getting riled on this issue is futile.

Having someone leech every single fight you have is not fun, you would find this out if you played a stealther at all. I picked a shade becuase i wanted the ability to pick my fights, and not be reliant on other people to help me get rp's. Greedy? no, practical? yes. Unfortunately for you, the DAoC endgame is getting RP's. Thats the whole point. Defending realms? Yes, but would you like to defend your realm with a bunch of rr1 people? not likely. Knowing that the time ive put into Pikeh and then getting kills is the main satisfaction for me, knowing that all the time ive spent was worth it. Im not a greedy person, maybe you will think this just becuase i ask for someone not to leech or get a little bit pissed off when someone jumps on a fight im winning easily. why? becuase at the moment finding a solo stealther is harder than a fully buffed dragon.

Ive recently got my VW 50, its a great char, probably the best class in the game for me. but can i get ANY solo action? not on your nelly. "make a PUG or summat then" - wanna face 2fg+add's with a non full PUG? not me. Ok, maybe i can go and PvE my vamp a bit more. Ok, so when she dings 50 ill be having to pick the same fights as my shade, 5+ albs adding every fight, basically playing a stealth class but without the stealth ability.

I don't think that is entirely unfortunate for Cryn's point of View. If anything the unfortunate thing is for you, that some people can have fun without worrying about the RPs.

I also rolled a stealther (Ranger in my case) so i could pick and choose my fights, and he was my most fun solo/PUG RvR character by a long way, and still the last thing on my mind was RPs!

The point is different people play in different ways, the fact that it is a MMORPG means that we all need to accept and adjust to other people play styles, and certainly not be rude to people who do play the game in a different way.

I dont add with my NS or Vamp (or any char I´d run around solo with) if I see a 1o1 fight, ever. Why? RP´s? Nope.

Simply because I´d like to see more people solo - and if you allways add on the solo players, they´ll give up on solo and start running duo or even 4-5 ppl at a time.....

then what am I gonna do with chars I wanna solo?

That can always be annoying, when you have been stalking a target and then else attacks them.
But it isnt PvE and there are no rules stopping anyone joining in, it might be annoying but its a factor of the game, so there really is no need for people to be insulted over it.

i dont think there is just 'one' answer as everyone will play the way they want.

Saying use one area for 8v8 GG, another for PUG's, another for soloers all sounds well and good but you will always get thoose that will do thier own thing.

There is no way you can enforce any ruling which in the end makes this argument kind of pointless as nothing is really going to change.

Main thing to remember is that this is a game and you play games to have fun, as does everyone else and they have as much right to have fun as you, but thier opinion of what is fun might be vastly differant.
