Manners
Having followed this post and read most if not all the comments i find Kesxex's point a valid one having suffered a similar fate , following a tower retake i was using a groups speed to travel about on the end of there group to be told quite rudly to get lost This was at the time very upseting
Good manners cost nothing and you are more than likely to get what you want if you ask politly
I think ppl should understand that RvR is just that its not Grp v Grp or even solo against solo or PvE where leaching is to be frowned upon , if other ppl are around they are at liberty to attack any enemy they like , War is a dirty buissness do u think the Albs or Mids play by a strange code of ethics that says things should be fair ? I DONT THINK SO
If one grp is fighting another do u think they care so long as they win and are alive to collect the rp's
Some might ,well if u think the same stay away from keeps , retakes or tower sieges go play in a quiet zone and see how long u last
As to ppl getting feedup with getting ganked by superior forces It happens ask any solo player or small group
The only thing i like is to be standing at the end of a fight along with other hibs getting the killing blow is just a bonus its all about getting Rp's be it 10 or 980 from a solo kill it all goes to improving my Toon and helping the REALM OF HIBERNIA
I will help any player from hib i see in a fight in the frontier and id expect them to help me if at all possable that dose not mean throwing there life away
This is how i see it if you dissagree that is your choice
Be nice to your realm mates in the frontier survival is the name of the game

Tox summed up the state of RvR very nicely.
I can see the point of "fair" fights - but at what RR it becomes a fair fight? Can I see my own realm mates RR immediately?
Can I judge the outcome of a fight within 3 seconds? Maybe with experience. Most often when I go out it is in a small pickup group - people who have very low experience playing together as a group. Plus most of them new to RvR.
Adding into a fight is an easy option - otherwise after the run the group leader (more like midfield) is getting grief - a lot.
Everyone who likes to have this secluded thinking of part of the battlefield as their own "private" zone should also keep in mind the "noobance" of others. What do you loose when others add?
Fun? To a certain point I fully agree - it's less challenging. On the other side the adding party runs around too looking for fun - running around for hours not finding a fight due to "enclosed" group fights is no fun too.
As someone mentioned it there are always some s***heads out there trying to make the game as much un-fun to everyone else around them as best as they can. I can live with some occurences.
It just looks to me that recently we have a whole lot more occurences in our realm where realm mates treat others as realm enemies. That is in RvR and PvE. Most often I simply ignore these occurences but over time it just adds up - resulting in the first post in this thread in quite an offensive style.
I really like to see more people acting nice to each other again. This was what struck me with Hib/Prydwen when I started (and was playing other servers too). It was an atmosphere where I could relax, have fun, make fun (out and for others) and have a good time.
Yes, these old times have past away. Time moves on. So have players I learned to know being great in knowledge, skill and manners.
Sadly they seem to be replaced more and more by a bunch of players who only value numbers - be it xp, rps or number of artifacts. Better and faster is good for everyone, nicer is an option no longer needed.
These manners are what brought this realm through our tough times pre-NF. Now that Hib has a distinct advantage in RvR it seems it is no longer needed and only the biggest wolf can make the rules.
From my point of view a sorry state for the community.

let me just point out m8 theres no such thing as YOUR fight as you put it do you think u own them albs and they r ur toys to play with and arent willing to share ... i wonder what would happen if RL battles were fought that way and have the americans say less adding on sudam plz hes ours ?zYnc wrote:First of all I'm the one saying '...'. I've been annoyed all the evening due to getting zerged/added on. We then get a perfectely fine fight which your group decides to join in. You may have fought other eneimes nearby which lead you into our fight, I don't know. I know it got me annoyed though.

u dnt see albs or mids complaining one dead alb is as good as another maybe just cuz u couldnt get full rp urself or whatever i dnt know but ud prolly complain if u got wiped by them

Your fight, my fight, their fight or our fight doesn't really matter. It was just my way of defining which fight it was. It wasn't about rps, and NO I wouldn't have complained about them not adding if we would've died. Your assuming alot about me without knowing me.kristopher wrote:let me just point out m8 theres no such thing as YOUR fight as you put it do you think u own them albs and they r ur toys to play with and arent willing to share ... i wonder what would happen if RL battles were fought that way and have the americans say less adding on sudam plz hes ours ?

I don't want to discuss this any further, it's in the past, history. Fact still remains I like 'fair' fights more, however I won't kill myself IRL if someone does add.

And this one is good... What the h*** does Saddam and the yanks got to do with a <shock and horrific things!> GAME. :/
?!
Well, he has a lawyer !zYnc wrote:Sorry to say this Ankh, but they haven't actually gotten Saddam yet, he's Phase Shifting you see. Not dead yet.
I am so glad that Albs and Mids don't have a lawyer class - we could never ever kill them anymore.

Crikey, don't look at prydwen for half a day and the threads grow so much - this was only just a 4 pager this morning.
From a practical perspective I have to admit I do find it hard to stop when I see an enemy and work out if they are in a FG vs FG fight or not. Numbers aside, given most of the time the battle is decided by whoever makes the first move (either in terms of CC or hitting the healers) then I tend to focus on trying to do my job as soon as I see them on screen.
There are times when you see them at a distance and can take a more thoughtful view but even then I tend to look at their group make up and numbers rather than if there is already a squabble going on and if I should therefore 'add'.
I find it a little easier when you see a 1 vs 1 fight - perhaps my alcohol fuelled brain can only take in and process so much information in a short space of time.
I stumbled on a 1 vs 1 fight in Leirvik yesterday, watched as the hibby was losing to an alb and as I was playing a warden I threw in a couple of heals. I guess I ruined the fight but my focus was to ensure the hibby won, if I had not had a healing toon I may well have 'added'. Not sure if this was right or wrong as far as the hibby was concerned, but to me it seemed the right thing to do and that is all any of us can look at.

Imho, a lot of the rudeness and just plain stupid behaviour out there is due to a lot of players being snotty kids that deserve a good spanking.
Still, it is a lot better on prydwen than excal or camlann. Don't know about other servers.
I find the most amusing thing to do is just basically talk whoever is rude down to size. 99% of the cases said person has the vocabulary of a 3-year old and the wits to match.
