Having played WoW...
When casting a spell in wow:
You start saying your evil magically imbued words of doom and if you are hit you start off where you left and its all visualized by a strange bar appearing...not really roleplay'sih
(you have a kind of perma MoC that slows spells instead)
When casting a spell in daoc:
You start saying your evil magically imbued words of doom and if you are hit your concentration breaks(like it would) and you have to start over to get the effects of your spell(and no spell bar)
Imo the daoc way applies more to a realistic way of things, thus more desireable, which i like more

Yea DAoC is much more realistic, bear with me 5 mins while I go Dragon spotting
For those who may have missed the points
1) It's a Fantasy Game
2) It's a Fantasy Game
Personally I don't give a flying monkey's what's realistic, I DO give a flying Monkey's about what's fun!
Nice to see all of the advice and thought about Melee Interupts, as I said I don't think they are an issue, where the interupt system really sux is the AoE spamming, even when they don't affect you.
It's all a question of control, same reason I am not keen on some of the CC available either. Take control away you take some of the fun away.

Interupts in Daoc are a problem for a lot of players. Yes if you're fully ToA twinked and are high realm rank with access to higher levels of MoC etc, then you probably don't suffer too much from interupts. But if you're not - forget it. I got tired of never getting a spell off in many fights due to interupts.
The basic problem is, and always has been, that too many different things can interupt you. Damage or spells intended to interupt should. Spammed crowd control and resisted spells shouldn't. But Mythic have always failed to address this flaw in the interupts code.
Rather than new expansions that try to mimic WoW and other games, Mythic should fix core gameplay and game balance issues in Daoc and then they might win back some of the players who have left and gain some new ones.

Cern if the enemy player is capable of spamming cc etc and interrupts you you shouldnt complain about the interrupt system but ponder why that char is free to cast while you are not.Cernos wrote: The basic problem is, and always has been, that too many different things can interupt you. IMO the interrupt system is fine. Change it and welcome back dark age of castalot
