wouldnt worry to much about that. I always thought RP was very silly. I didnt mind ppl that did it aslong as i didnt have to RP myself. But now I play wow on an RP server and i love it. Its relaxing, its very funny and you can be who you want to be. Just make up a random story about your char and build it up from there. You will always have ppl that take it that lickle bit to serious or that just come on the server to laugh at the ppl that RP but those are just idiots who should be ignored

I think you'll have some great fun.

I played a lot of pen & paper D&D in my dim & distant youth
& I was admin on an UO RP shard
& I was on the US DAoC RP servers for the 1st 2-3 years of DAoC
but most of the others in the guild have never really RPed much
so it will be a lot of fun I'm sure

I'm really looking forward to it

The only bad thing I've encountered on RP servers are the hard-core RP-police/griefers who feel they have to appeal every 2nd name they see for no immediately apparent reason although that name has been running around for 2-3 years already without anyone previously feeling the need to appeal it.

Oh & the people who feel they have to make a name like FURPers etc

haha i started playing on that server cos of an FS guildie that already played there. Its pretty fun tho, you can make fun of ppl and just blame it on the RP and you can pretend to be who you want to be

And i'm not one of those hardcore rp's either hun, i just play for fun, say what i want to say and they happen to think i'm playing a char .. easy.

aye true, the numbers of times i had to read that discussion. Some ppl think they can set up their own rules and others just have to follow them. In daoc the roleplayers used to say 'ooc' when they spoke out of character, in WoW they use ((...)) when they speak ooc. If you dare to say 'ooc' you're in for one

Some hardcore roleplayers do comment on ppl's names aswell. I was minding my own business one evening, running around stormwind crafting and collecting stuff when i got a pm from this dude commenting on my name, that i should fuck off the server cos my name wasnt a roleplay name .. i laughed my arse off, then i tried to calm him down and ask him why my name wasnt a roleplay name and he couldnt win the fight and put me on ignore. I was devistated ofc.

Got to say I look at Aran and Gwen in a totally diffrent way now.
