Just wonder how they manage to decide who wins battles etc, I mean, do they calculate Hitpoints, take into account armour etc. and do they have casters and if so, how do they work the magic system?
Ermmm probably going to regret owning up to this but I spent a lot of my (now sadly long gone) youth larping.
As for how they keep score, you can hear people shouting "single " and "double" as they hit people. I varies on whatever system they are using but you have so many points per limb,in your torso and in your head.. eg 12 per limb and 16 torso and 8 head. So a single would be 4 points off that and a double 8...there are also triples and quads depending on the mob or weapon.
So, as youa re fighting you are mentally keeping a tally of how many points remian in each area.
A single on a leg would be minus 4 points = 8 points, if a limb goes to 0 you stop using it (yes you hop or drop your weapon)
If your torso or head go to zero you are unconcious and bleeding, and if you go too far into the zero you die.
At the end of a combat the gm calls a time out and a tally is taken of who took what (and people always forget what they took so can take a while)
There also used to be a systam where weapons were coated in paint and then hits could be seen better.
Spells were usually done by throwing objects like tennis balls, if you hit with that the spell hit and damage was yelled out.
alcohol is required as much as the role playing clothes. Most of my bros mates don't follow all the rules they mostly just quote things from films or off songsl ike bal sagoth - tyranny of the empireum march against the legions darkness conquest for steel. (thats a song title lol roughly.)
