Languages that I think it would be cool to know

Japanese (know abit, but very little, watching lots of anime, so is one reasons I guess)

Spannish (Not sure why, but I like the language)

Languages I would never try to learn

Dutch/German (Just because I really hate how it sounds, nothing else)

French (This is almost even worse, everything they say sounds like, Im perfect and you'r nothing, if you get what I mean)

May sound abit insulting, but actually it has nothing to do with the people, it's just how I feel about those languages.

Only language i would not wish to learn is french.
I dont like the country (alot seem hate the brits...one of the indian ladies from our work went france and according to her they were treating her courtiously and nicely until they found she was from england, then their attitude changed completly..) i and the language used to confuzzle me when i was being taught it in school

I used to not want to learn spanish but i realised more places actually speak spanish than just spain

German is a pretty kewl language and the people seem very nice.
Like its said in black adder - you have to admire them .. they were just a sausage factory in berlin but they managed to take over half the planet**

Well as I said, my not wanting to learn those languages havent got anything to do with the people themselfs, because there is ar*eholes and also nice people in all contries, I don't blame people because of rumors or from what some people may have done.

The only reason is the languages themselfs, I hate how both of them sounds ;D

I would have learned greek also as i thnk alot of it is written in greek - least i think the deep sea scrolls are

i got as far as learning you read it from left to right

You'd have to learn Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek to read the original Biblical texts.

Spanish is the language of sunshine! Think of Spain, then think of South America... Mexico... all that delicious cuisine... Chillies, Tequila (worms included), Tortillas, Tachos, Siestas. Being able to say "Adios amigos", all those beautifully tanned women!

That's why I like Spanish anyway!

hehe, yeah, thats probably it, but I like the Language itself also, it sounds so nice somehow =D

A dev came on today when the language discussion reared its ugly head again & said:-

This is a Beta server
It is NOT a designated English language server
& there are no plans to change this
players of all languages are free to speak the language of their choice
& we expect players of all languages to be treated with equal tolerance & respect

Not that this will stop the hot-heads OFC
They probably won't get the message until they get kicked or banned =/

You may have point there, Agent "X".
I think also, it's a "British" thing that we Brits are not too concerned about learning languages. I think it's because we're still living, to a certain extent, with the legacy of the British Empire and British colonialism, where those nations who were part of the Empire and the Commonwealth were always taught to speak English. There was never a need, therefore, to learn other languages, because the Sun never set on the British Empire... which has never been true for any other empire (I say that for fact, not for boasting).
