and im sorry but have you BEEN in a shoe store.
Men shoes - 2 isles
Women shoes - 16 isles..
its not OUR fault they make so many different shoes
exactly! to many shoes .. i got this thing with shoes, actually with high boots got so many .. oh and handbags
And what that driving is concerned .. i can drive! (against the first wall that comes along ) I cant read maps but i'm great in asking for directions. And that is better then men do cos most of them are to stubborn to ask for directions.
And i dont think men that change into women can have kids cos as far as i know they just change the winky to a vajayjay and give hormones for boobs.
basically the problem with this law as far as a can see it is 2-fold:
the price paid per mile (if u take the average car journey at 5 miles total) ie school runs and going to and from work in somewhere like london where the £1.50 per mile will most liekly apply (it will depend on the area you are driving in how much u will pay) thats 7.50 a day.
7.50 @ 40 weeks, 5 days a week is
7.50 * 40 = £300 (if my maths is correct)
edit: £300 * 5 = 1500, which im sure must be wrong but maybe not
thats more then everyone pays now
in my opnion a better option would be toll roads similar to france
however the 2nd problem as far as i can see it is public transport which has not improved in london as far as i can tell as a customer for 4-5 years (atleast on the bus routes i use, and those being the north london to london city centre routes) but the price has gone up none the less to a massive £2.00 single way (if i remember correctly please let me know if its stil £1.50)
the money from the congestion charge was supposed to help improve services, but ofcourse the government is still paying for the initial costs of the scheme and just rising prices on public transport instead.
also point of fact the initial charge has gone up 60% since the start of the scheme, and is likely to rise even higher and the zone was just widened this week.
simply im saying its shit that they do this but short of a mass revolution forcing the government into a referendum we just have to wait until next elections
so someone else can win with a massive majority vote of.... 37%
the house of commons used to be there to protect normal people from greedy lords, now they seem quite happy to work together as tony blair has 'purged' the house and installed whoever he wants instead.
oh an PS the arguements for protecting the environment is inteeresting but unlikely to hold up again for 2 reasons (it'll be short this time promise )
1: Kyoto is still not ratified but our closest ally which would cut world wide pollution by a nice chunk, and the governemnt have not put any pressure on the US to chenge their mind.
2: if we were finally to adopt nuclear power as a safe and efficient way of powering our country, the pollution made by cars would be rather minimal when weighed against the pollution of fossil fuel power plants.
hmmm how did you ladies know I'm too stubborn to ask for directions?

Every little helps.
Just because the USA don't care about the environment doesn't mean we should stop caring.
Just because we save emmisions from changing to more environmentally friendly electricity generations doesn't mean we shoudln't save more from reducing transportation emissions.
Besides the main argument for this sort of tax isn't the pollution, it's conjestion.
yes but conjestion causes pollution, and what im saying is we should address the big problem instead of just taxing on an ever increasing market which wont cut pollution at all, but will instead raise the cost of living in the UK

We've covered this - UK cars are responsible for 20% of the UK's pollution, which is 0.46% of the world's pollution, whilst less than 1% is a small figure, it's certainly not negligible so reducing it is a good option. They're trying to push European countries to reduce their emissions levels by 30% right now, that means we're going to have to realistically drop car emissions by 4% at least somehow but most likely more, because there are a lot of car journeys that are unneeded, therefore rather than harming the UK's economy by forcing some industries who do need to let off the emissions it makes sense to hit lazy people who drive when it's not needed. Rather amusingly, industry has already been forced to curb emissions to a large extent and since the 1st of February, flights have been hit by additional costs with the aim of reducing pollution - it's inevitable that cars are going to be hit too, driving isn't some god given right that is immune to attempts to reduce pollution so even if they give up on this scheme there'll be another, only next time they probably wont bother consulting the population about it with the difficulties they've had this time round, perhaps maybe sneak up the costs of fuel and such.
