Just in case ppl hadn't seen this one yet.
Just a warning - Camelot is not Vista-compliant. If you upgrade to Vista at this time, you may have trouble playing. We're working with all the appropriate parties to try and resolve this issue as quickly as we can, but if you're concerned, you should hold off on installing Vista until I can give you more information. Thanks, all.

with Microsoft having been developing this for so long and the Beta having been available for over 18 months I do question if Mythic actually have their finger on the pulse at times...

At a guess I'd say most people who play DAoC aren't likely to have been queueing outside the Microsoft shops at midnight & staying up all night to install Vista. I know I'll be waiting for a few months until the 1st patches have come & gone before considering changing.

Ive been using the different versions for 18 months... and am liking what I have used thus far... only a few annoying issues but haven't gone retail yet... still awaiting media and volume keys from my supplier...
I think that possibly we are seeing that Mythic dont see that much longevity in the game and as such are hoping that they wont need to invest in the dev time to make the required changes to the game... but now they are seeing the gap between vista release and war release is bigger then they thought so as a result are now having to react to a growing need.

I doubt I'll change until some game comes out which I just HAVE to have
I mean... It IS horrendously expensive
I have 3 PCs & a laptop
At CHF 500 a shot thats CHF 2000, or £800
I can think of any number of things I'd rather spend £800 on TYVM

if your employer uses windows, check with them if they are on an Open Subscription Lisence... if they are they will more than likely have a "home use" policy option that allows staff to get legitimate copies of software for use at home as part of their lisence... and its included in the price of the company lisencing. worth asking the question!

Unfortunately I don't think that includes the OS, only things like the Office package.
I know we can get Office to use at home "free" for £17.95, but there is no similar deal on the OS. As yet Office 2007 is available yet though, still only getting the choice of XP or 2003.
