Still worth playing ?

Hey folks , i havent played for about 8 months , i think i stopped a little while after Darkness rising came out and i moved to a " classic " server for a while before i stopped completely.
is it worth coming back to check out ?
will i still be competative ?
i had a ton of chars mostly ML10 though dont think i did any of the darkness rising stuff on pryd , but if i remember correctly it wasnt such a massive effort to get to CL5 on the classic server

do people still do the "Dont add !! " madness when you are just running around having a bit of pvp ? or did that frightning trend go away ?

Whenever I've been on Hib recently it's been pretty empty.
Mid is still pretty active.
I don't have a clue about Albs, but in the frontier it usually feels like there are more high-RR Alb casters than Mids & Hibs together

Many GG people (& others) have left all 3 realms, but especially Hibs.
Albs AC-raid relics at 4-5am
There still seems to be fun to be had tho.

So what have people all left to play instead ?
Dont say wow please , i have been there and done that , and stopped a while ago when i realised the expansion was going to be the same thing all over again ,
( dont get me wrong it was great fun , and very time consuming , but enough is enough )
Just need to find something that has a good pvp element in it , and it doesnt sound ( after reading a few more posts here ) like daoc has that anymore

SO ! , what is everyone playing these days , i hope the answer isnt " nothing , we are waiting for warhammer /conan " cos i am bored NOW!

The FG v. FG scene moved to a german server - Avalon iirc
A lot of people have moved to US servers
& yes, A fair number have gone to WoW recently too

There has been a lot of fun action in the frontiers recently tho. The only thing which seems to have changed is there are noticeably less Hibs, & you can run around a bit & have fun without getting flattened quite so quickly by some super-opted group... If anything I've had more fun in the frontiers recently than before when everyone was still here

cheers oohoo , just checked over on freddys house for some further insight though , and it seems as if the classic server is not very heavily populated either .
maybe i will wait and see and read a bit more before activating
ta anyway

well they just merged the UK classic server with another more heavily populated classic server...
a german one iirc
so probably everything there is now in german
