AOE buffs/effects

Playing last night for a little while, I was mooching about while it was quiet thinking to myself... the AOE buffs are they all they can be?
There is one in particular that annoys the hell out of me... its a pulsing AOE con/hp buff and as a stealther its a pain in the ass... someone runs past me while stealthed and my con goes up and down as the other person runs about... effectively damaging my HP pool... now what I want to be able to do is switch off its effect on me...
there are situations where AOE buffs are of benefit... in sieges, running, end resists etc but there are times when people cast/use artifacts with AOE effects that I would rather not be the benefactor of (see Im keeping it positive in a glass half full vibe)
Are any others of the same mind on some of these effects? (I know of one person who went and got the artifact and put it into their template to not be affected as it was annoying him so much!)
