Banelord changes

Post by Sharkith »

Ripped from FHbut I thought people here might have comments:

NEW THINGS AND BUG FIXES

- The following changes have been made to the Banelord Master Level line:

All spells and Abilities in Banelord, with the exception of Primal Agony and Agony Transmission, have been changed so they no longer interrupt other players who are casting.

Primal Agony and Agony Transmission range has been reduced to 500 units.

Snaring Tendrils of Power now correctly has a recast timer of 5 minutes.

I am not so familiar with banelords, but anything that lets me cast more spells must be a good thing! :p

They obviously need to balance things between tanks and casters if this goes live as it is; Tendrils fix is about right tbh, rest would move the balance even more in favor of casters, and that's bad for the game.

Heavy tanks are uber when they got Fury up aye :p rest situation is better than some months ago but not that much changed, Light tanks are uber sure with charge 1 vs 1, in fgs put out their capability of interrupt with BL abilities and they surely will get kicked in favor of more caster ^^

Yup agree.

Tank groups already have it tough with lag strafing, window dragging and during higher latency periods. This will make it even tougher.

Agree with Gahn here.

Caster vs my BM has no comparison for damage output. My effectiveness in a FG is bery much based on interupting enemy casters so the rest of my grp can do their stuff.

Uh, how is lag strafing any worse than run through which totally destroys casters worthfulness?

A good 3x light tank train should insta-kill any caster in the first round. Thing about tank trains is you can't escape them due to charge and stun/snare/mezz from minstrel/skald/champ/whatever, their DPS is high enough to kill any class in 1/2 rounds each with a train, they're hard to kill due to high HPs and AoM3 works wonders and their DPS is uninterruptable.

Only thing BL changes is that you need a dedicated interrupter again instead of light tanks being high DPS, survivable, un-CCable and interrupters all in one which was just plain silly.

Don't be such a drama queen, the difference isn't that big, particularly if you have TW up.

Most people that cry about casters don't invest anything into AoM, if a caster has pumped god knows how much into MoM yet you've put nothing into AoM htf can you except to compare? With AoM3 on my merc/minstrel and good clerics +resist buffs up in group there's no reason to die to casters really, turn that around and give a caster PD3 and some good clerics and he's still gonna die to a tank train no matter what, even BG Pally wont help with BL/Champ RR5 etc.

there are two sides of the medal.....
1)BL is not so good anymore......means casters have it easier
2)but more classes will have the ability to get BL.....means casters will have it not so easy

what i think have to change too with this is that they nerf ML9 pets, maybe reduce castspeed or damadge tables for casters abit

What showes this changes again is, this game is still in movement and thats good so.

Arkaon / Karak-Norn
and plenty of other chars between 10 and 30

One thing will say about banelords, is casters have already learnt to kite, extend and play around it so maybe it's not as big a deal as first seems.

I think there's more big impact stuff to come so it's too early to say what's happening. SW nerf? ML9 nerf? classes getting unsuitable/odd ML options (light tanks PSing and running in to wtfpwn!), nm the proposed bolt reworkings...all is up in the air. Not just for this patch, the next one when they fix all the stuff they fucked up with this one :).
