So, how are things going?

I stopped playing DAOC some time ago, shortly after the fiasco with corrupted databases etc.

After waiting an eternity (or so I thought) for stuff to be given back to my characters, I closed my account cuz I was so appauled by the support and seeing the threads still going on I guess I was right.

I was just curious as to how things are 2-3 months down the road? I left fractionally before the servers merged.

Has everybody gone to the classic servers? is there anybody still playing?


Any idea when you guys will get Darkness rising? I might pop back for a wee looksee then but atm I'm happy playing EVE and BF2 although BF2 is bad for my blood pressure.

it feels like 2/3 of hib pryd moved to classic servers or left, someone are slowly trickling back but it hasnt been good.

Still waiting for stuff even though i reported in first week or so, most people have got thier stuff back i think.

pryd-excal cluster hasnt been as bad as i expected but then there has been a massive drop in numbers.
Now primetime you can see 600 excal, 400 pryd, 2500 glas(classic) admitedly the classic number also includes a lot of french.

DR is supposed to be out begining of feb with hopefully the 1.81 super patch coming soon after.

I think a fair number of people are oscillating between Hib/Pryd & Glastonbury.

I vastly prefer Hib/Pryd, but when the same old same old problems start getting to me again (nobody ever wanting to group, too many high-RR opponents, never getting any RPs, never being able to get enough people together to get artes, lack of "required" MLs (in short severe lack of potential fun) etc etc etc) then I take off for Mid/Glastonbury where happily none of those problems exist. After a few hours the cold & darkness of Mid starts to depress me & I come back to Hib/Pryd & the frustration-cycle starts over again

Its a shame to see so few people playing hib, I have little or no interest in playing a classic server, I honestly cant see the point.

I enjoy bits of TOA and since it took so bloody long to get artis AND build templates around them I wont be binning that in a hurry.

I cant see the interest in rerolling yet another character.

I think a few of us might pop back for DR just to have a wee looksee, the whole support and customer side of things if far superior in other games so it would have to be great to keep my inerest.

I spose I better get my copy ordered
