if it can be proved as cross realming yes.. but there certain limits to crossrealming.. if you suspect somebody then RN it.. and it will be investigated.

They can suspend or ban the player, but the problem is proving it. Player would have to be v stupid or blatant.

proof is almost impossible to provide.... if they look at IP addresses then you would have to account for internet cafes, universities, offices shared accomodations, unsecure wireless networks... even if they look at account names there are no guarantees that a father/mother hasnt sorted the account for their child who plays too but on another account/realm.

well technically i cross realm ive got chars on all three realms.
You would have to specify what type of crossrealming because there are big differences between what i do IE just play for fun dont really get involved in rvr unless its with guild members and some people that use accounts to get information or to farm their bot in the middle of the ocean.
However for instance some people play on a closed home network and so the IP address for their accounts would be identical and they could play on multiple realms. If you suspect someone of crossrealming
ie "I know where there are some mids exping i just found out on guild chat" for example then rightnow it .

once i had the problem that i was log on alb/lyo and 10min later on same pc with acc from a friend...on lyo/mid...2 day later i got email that both acc are closed because of spying and multi realming...
so i think they can see it cause of your ip.

so by all technical.. defaults (i suppose)
Woodnt even havin a bot be cross realming?
I mean think about it for a sec.. u have a network at home.. ur IP's are the same.. u have two accounts.. but on the same realm.. but all one account is doing is just sitting there like a plank... and the other is moveing.. is the exact same when u play on lets say hib and alb.. one sits like a plank.. the other moves around, the player wood have to be PRETTY dam skilled to run both atst
but.. if u had one person in a guild.. an ur bot was in another... hat cud be classed as the same as multirealming, cus ur getting information from differant sources.. its the exact same (only for the fact that ur not in another realm, and that ur getting info from allies instead of enemys)
U know... i think i just found a chink in my logic... well that or i dont understand multirealming... lol (witch is highly possable)
veg out

They couldnt realisticly do it by IP for reasons I stated above... internet cafe, universities, other places with a single firewall (IP) and multi user environments.
