[21-11-2005] New Frontiers zone unstable on the cluster

Post by Sharkith »

http://daoc.goa.com/en/

Tonight between 20 :00 and 21 :00 the New Frontiers zone on the Prydwen/Excalibur cluster restarted itself three times. We have technicians looking into the problem and there will be more news about this later tonight or tomorrow.

Any more word on this I hope another night of RvR is not going to be destroyed by the unstable Hamster. Can't they take it to a pet psychologist or smgt?

:p

For once I was glad I was not able to log on.

The whole game seems unstable at the moment - half our group ld'd on Sunday in the frontiers at the same time.

Seems to be one thing after another - ah well maybe Santa will bring a more stable database, server, router or whatever the problem is for GOA and hopefully well before Christmas.
Brain cells come and brain cells go but fat cells live forever !

Currently playing Hib (ofc) on Uthgard

hmm
if its a solo hamster it may dislike another hamster adding on its teritory. (unless its a dwarf/female hamster)
And if you intoroduce an oposite gender hamster - theyd be too 'busy' if ya know what i mean (wink wink nudge nudge)

it already started when Agra-island was implented, bevore it i my computer was running real good, only mini lags when FG are inc.
Now i have mini lags everytime i move to another zone-part or 5-6 mobs come into sighn.
And with cluster we now got the instability of these zone.

GOA GO AND FIX THIS!

Sidenote:i really dont care whats the problem, do something and fix it ....THX

thats true, hamsters don't like adding as well. Hmmm ok the wheel must be the answer - GOA get the hamster a wheel. I am stick of it going off in a huff.

Yes fix the damn thing - thats twice in two weeks now we have had to cancel RvR sessions because of the grumpy hamster. I don't give a **** about free days I would prefer it to bloody well work when it is supposed to.

The problem wasn't due to a server fault or hardware issue. It *appears* that someone was attempting to dupe items. He failed, but everytime he tried the zone crashed as he flooded it with invalid data. It's been sorted.
