maybe our american server playing breathren could explain why but for some reason - since DR has come out in the usa. People have been trying to buy the old style epics off people.
So if you have a couple of hours to kill - might be worth doing them.

True, even with the new Epics stats aint worth that.

guess it can be ok for lvling armor for other chars maby, but then I would rather just use SCed armor ;P

And maby they belive the Old Epics will Upgrade when the Expansion gets here, I dunno ;D

It probably is just more fotm rvr guilds trying to get cheap armor to level in. Getting themselves set up for cluster and so forth :P

Bit silly really that people are doing these epics now. If you remember an old screen shot that was actually on this forum while people were beta testing DR itself. The 'new' epic armor showed similar characteristics to that of artifacts - meaning they needed xp to gain stats.

But on the other hand if you read the recent patch notes then it does say that those people who have 'completed' their epic in days gone by will be able to restart their new epics from 'x' level instead of completely from scratch. So perhaps there is some small logic there in doing them now ie getting ahead of the game, which if I were a liddul rvr zergling rpee whore or wutever you want to call them. I'd be doing precisely that.

Saw a post by Edlina in the class corner section refering to the possible use of epic stuff in a template, maybe it fits in wel?, maybe it got revamped? who knows but im sure if there is a trend ppl will pick up on it and follow it ;)

Old epic does nothing new, the new epic is just a completely new set of quests so god knows why people want to buy old epic.

If you've done the old epic QUESTS then you can start half way through the new epic armour quests but buying the armour without doing the old quests wont help.

All that said I do have one recommendation RE: the old epic quests - get ALL your chars to the first step of the level 43 epic before the new epic quests come in, why? Because the old epic quests give a whole ton of xp for doing them and you can still do the new epic afterwards and xp quests are by far the fastest way of gaining CL XP in DR unless you can find non-stop solo RvR fights and win them all :)

If it's not one of the reasons to do with game mechanics, mebbe just cos peeps want to dress up in their class epics along with the new champion weapons.

Well, sounds nice but tbh it won't be needed as the new epics imo look quite nice even if the stats on the few new epics that I have seen look rather failingly poor. But who knows what devious little spellcrafters will be able to work their magic with the new stuff they are presented with, even if it's about 6 months later when they finally work out what really is the uber suit to wear :x
