Hi everyone , i decided to return to DAoC today so i can prepare for catacombs . Before i left i was playing Albion but on terminating my accounts i deleted my chars .
I've decided to play Hib this time on Prydwen server ( same server as i used to play but different realm) as i felt i needed something different to what i already knew .
I have 2 accounts and was wondering what the best combination was in terms of lvling and what Hibernia needs most .
At the moment i've got a lvl 8 Hero called Kelalle that i'm lvling with a ment until 20 then was going to switch to Hero / Bard combo .

However i am interested in what classes are needed most , as am willing to try and help out in that respect :)

( Posted here after reading freddyshouse hib forums and seeing the link to here )

Regards Kelalle

welcome to hib/pry :)
Bards are needed and active druid's - hero's are pretty redundant atm, but i know a few who still have a good time (champs are more viable with ranged attacks)- bm's are very popular atm, a very nice dmg dealing class and if you are interested in stealthing then i would roll a ranger (please dont, we have enough as it is)

but yeh, defo roll a bard, they are a tricky class to play but great when played well, and you will find plenty of groups anytime.

I used a chanter to self PL my druid. Great combo imo.

But generally play what you like and what you'll enjoy at 50 (in rvr and all).

Welcome to Hib/Pryd! Pretty much any class will go well with a Bard due to having power and endu songs..

if you want an absolutely awesome pve duo, i would go with valewalker and druid (yes i love valewalkers) but with NF there are several bonuses: apart from BG on healers casters ad ability to assist casters using lifetaps (fully buffed i hit for 300-400, but ofcourse its just there to suplement dmg), you also get a UBER sidechain, combined with 8 sec stun on back chain is just crazy, i ht 500 a hit not including procs, which Bliizard Blade (the 3rd in side chain) does an extra 400ish (resists do play a part ofcourse) but thats 2400 dmg in bout 6 seconds, which most casters would be happy with :) also get 2 insta interupts, and throw weapon is handy for that aswell (ofcourse you cant attack for 6 secs, but 99% sure u can still cast) thats rvr anyway, pve a vwer unbuffed can chain yellow/oranges non stop, and buffed can chain reds VERY easily, and lifetap your health back up, and im never OOE when farming, and i farm Hulks in DF with druid bb, and it takes so few heals that hes never oop either.
if your adament on using bard it would be slightly more difficult, and in that case id probably go shield spec tank, but you do lose out on d/q and s/c on bard (which im sure you know, but thought id mention that)

a good caster combo would be mana ment and light ment or chanter ofcourse, that hot is absolutely killer, and light ment is damn nice in rvr

stealther wise, rangers, with medium pf (self af becomes spec next patch (? or 1 after cant remember) can be great bow or melee rangers, infact awesome meleers.

the main problem with hero's (i dont have a lvl 50 1, so not the absolute best person to ask, but i think i know some thing) is just the genuine lack of abilities for keep sieges and even roam grps, the reduction in det has really hurt them, as shield champs can do the job almost as well, and get nice debuffs to help in assist trains.

anyway hope that helped :)

PS if u decide to roll a VWer there are a fair few (well 7ish) active atm you im sure could help u, or ask me anything and i can help

PPS Welcome to HIB

VW's are VERY good like spetz said - that and a druid or a bard combo can tear through a lot of mobs and own as a duo in rvr.
here are some dmg pics of mine at LVL 41 in Liervik BG against all higher or equal lvl players. i was only self buffed at the time..

the second pic isnt really nice dmg , just demonstrating the AoE style, this was at lvl 36 in Molvik BG

Please dont roll a mana chanter - we have too many as it is :eek2:
