Well some people have finally decided to put their concerns in writing. I have not said anything about this for a while because like I said they do need time. However this is an interesting thing to consider. http://forums.freddyshouse.com/showthread.php?t=171927
This is a copy of the letter i sent to CEO GOA today. I will keep you posted when i get an answer.
We are writing this letter to you due to the late failure of the Prydwen database.
All of us are Daoc account holders playing on Prydwen within the Norrsken Alliance.
Since the last database failure have caused much frustration to people playing on Prydwen we ask you to provide us with you assurances that this situation is never going to happen again. We would like you to publish a statement posted on either your official site or the Dark Age of Camelot section of http://www.freddyshouse.com, announcing why this happened and what steps your company has taken to prevent this from happening again.
We also feel that it's essential for us to know what to expect of the service we're paying for. Both minor and major incidents have occurred, the hacking of the servers causing Prydwen to go offline for several days as an example. Therefore we suggest that an SLA (Service Level Agreement) would be made between GOA and the end customers (the daoc account holders).
Signed by Guild Masters of the Norrsken alliance Prydwen on behalf of the Guilds members
Yours

So what do people think - would others consider doing something similar? It is premature to do it?
Note I am not complaining or even claiming that this would make any difference but if you do not make your feelings known formally they may never get heard. Wether or not a company 'listens' is of course and entirely different matter. I think this group should have cc'ed their letter to Mythic to be frank.

Made for a good laugh tho
Might be useless, but not really laughable. When the customers stand up and demand answers should imo be taken seriously. Even if they do have it covered in the CoC as you say the customers are still the ones keeping the company alive and their words should/must mean something for the company.
Edit: Im pretty sure quite a few (including myself) would/will quit if they cant guarantee this kind of incident wont happen again. No real point in playing if all the hours you put into the game are wasted.

The intent might have been good. But the letter itself and suggesting they have a SLA with every single customer is utterly laughable.
It is like they heared about a SLA in school yesterday and now write a letter since they are o so important.
I assume it will come on GOA's wall of funny letters/mails.

Well hate to break it to you..you will have to quit then. They can NEVER EVER guarantee this wont happen again. It is impossible. They already stated they do their best to try ensure things dont go wrong but they can never guarantee it
Tbh I didnt bother much about the SLA part of that letter. I was more thinking of customers standing up demanding a guarantee. And imo they ARE important as they are the ones paying the subs.
They might not be able to guarantee it 100% but there sure are ways to reduce the chance of this happening again greatly.
Edit: If the customers arent important I wonder what you would concider to be important for a company.

along with the letter asking what everyone got for compensation. "i heard we are getting a insta ML10" , "i heard we are getting insta rr5 for every lvl 50". To think some of those people were serious.
here here ankh i compleatly agree and yes i would /quit aswell also i would /deleate all my chart's to prevent them ever being used in the game again i think its a Great idear and if anyone doe's write a letter then they can inculde myself in it, Quinlan i dont understand you perstance in trying to flame these type of ppl Laughable No! useless No! im not sure u have an understanding of marketing or customer relations, with out this kind of action we would still be living in a backwards world <uk Magncarter> <Black power>
<Minerstrikes> etc etc,

Customer is king but not a Dictator and that is what the writers of this seem to want to be. I never said they customer is not important. Only thing i said is that they are not as important as they think.
And ofcourse they try to do their best to not let it happen again. Not like they installed their servers and do nothing (eventho alot of people post they do)

Ofcourse they are no dictators, but without any customers there really wont be any game at all. So in this case I think they are totally correct with their letter.
