just a quicky cos im board and allsevers are down .
when ppl exchange money from one realm to another why do they expect a differnt exchange rate , ie wtt 10plat from mid/exel to pryd/hib i give you 1 plat in mid and expec u to give me 2 plat in hib.

last time i check most items were about the same price give or take , and 1 plat is 1 plat 1 gold is 1 gold. its not ya exchanging 1 plat for say 100 pound's is it? its all the same currnecy, i would be a bit like me going into england from wales and saying to an english person ill give you one pound i got from wales if u give me 2 pounds from england.

i belive its the other way around u get 1.5/2p on mid for 1p on hib
well because on excal items/artis are harder to get there due to more ppl playing

I think they have calmed down with those kind of offers tbh...only ones that still use it are people desperate to get money on a server (and they usually offer the 2x for money on the server they need it)

Its like anything, its supply and demand. What is interesting is that with clustering, the currencies of the two servers are merged 1:1. If someone was bothered, they could make money doing it. Like, if people were offering 1.5p on excal for 1p on prydwen. You could swap all your money on pryd for 50% more on excal, then when clustering happens, you can move the money back to your pryd char at 1:1 ratio making 50% more money in the process. Also, since people know this is happening, there is a likelyhood that as the clustering comes closer, then the exchange rates will tend to 1:1 anyway.

Also, they are not really all the same currency. In Ireland, we had the pound and in England, there is the pound. However, they were still separate currencies. The only way to make them the same is if someone offered 1:1 ratios. An example of this would be China with its fixed rate against the dollar. This effectively locks the exchange rates. Goa would need to offer a mechanism for inter server transfers to keep the plats on all the servers equal. They could have something like you pay 1.1p for 1p on a target server. This has the added advantage of removing money from the game = lower inflation.

Also bear in mind that some sneaky buggers may be taking advantage of the fact that Prydwen is down and Prydwen players are playing alts on Excal who need money.

Exchange rate: 2p Alb Exc = 1p Hib Pry.
Reasons:
1: Prices on Alb Exc are higher that Hib pry, Prime example of this, i just got my necro's 5pt oc done on his mp armor. cost me 4.6p. Exactly the same on hib pry cost me 1.5p.

2: There are more players on alb exc so getting a farm group together is easier thus getting items to sell is easier thus making cash is easier.

3: necro + bb = Chanter + bb + mana mentalist. if you are confused by this i suggest you get a 50bb with fop and a 50 servant spec necro ml0 and go farm mobs. I can take all 3 SoM mobs even when they god mode on me with that.
