Lo folks, long time no see, I guess

Anyway, WoW got shit, so .. started DAoC again on Gareth in America, one of the no ToA servers, it's really good, Catacombs makes everything so much easier and I'm enjoying the game again. Population wise it has as much as excalibur used to have back in classic/SI days.

Just wondering if anyone else is on?

There will be a poll soon on this (see the GOA web-site).

GOA have previoulsy indicated that they are not minded to do an English-language classic server because of, as they see it, the low player base on Pryd/Excal.

Whilst the numbers on the French and German servers may be higher, perhaps what GOA needs is an indication of is how many players have English as a second language that they would feel comortable in using in the game.

My guess is that if we take first languages then the numbers of English players are lower than the French and German players and as such make GOAs thinking valid. If, however, we took the numbers of all players who have english, french or german as a second language then I suspect English would win and therefore make a more sound argument for a classic server being created in English.

I would argue that the English-speaking customers deserve an English classic server to compensate for the lack of options post-clustering - but that's an old argument that I'm not going to re-hash.

I have been playing Gareth 2 weeks now and loving it. I currently have 3 x 20 something toons who go by the following names:-

Cappucina - Chantress
Espresso - Drood
Calissa - Animist

We are currently in the Ancient Vendetta guild. I play most nights from about 8pm UK time 'til late. PST in game and we can meet up. I'd be very interested in you have a menty or another pba to join my little levelling/farming team :-)
