As of Saturday both my hib/pryd accounts have expired so my hibernian days are over. No more will you see Briannon, Playmate, Draccula, Sharrr, Bannshee and others defending the realm.

I just wanted to say thanks to all the people I've met in game for some good times over the past three years. To all those who've racked me off, well I'll see you in the frontiers with my necro and revenge will be mine!!! (until April anyway).

If it would be helpful I will keep posting updates and developments as they occur on the US servers, mainly to give you guys an idea of what's coming to Europe further down the line.

If Banana and other mods think I should be chucked off the Boards, then just let me know beforehand so I can get the tissues and hankies ready.

Oh Briannon, just as things were kicking off in Hibernia/Prydwen again.

US servers are very good though, the only thing that keeps me here is the community, and the fact that you can do stuff during reasonable hours with a guild that don't think you sound "like that guy out of the Streets" when you chat to them in Ventrilo :¬þ

I will get a chance to sample clustering here because GOA won't give me a refund on the account that is pre-paid until next April: the only thing is that that account has mids on pryd (which I hardly ever play) and albs on excal (which I will play).

But, my point has always been that clustering per se is not the devil - it's the complete lack of choice over servers and realms that will be left for english language players after the deed is done, and the lack of value that represents for my pounds and pennies. I have two years' worth of rent stored on both my houses so there is time for a change of mind should the value for money improve in that period.

I do miss all my DAoC buddies when playing on the US servers and it is hard getting new friends because of the time difference. But the choice is so much better and the game is in its very latest patch: so the bad is outweighed by the good.



Oh, and 'Nana, to protect me from any accusations of cross-realming, can you remove my access to the Hibernia Secrets forum?

From the 1st of July I'm going to have a choice of 21 servers on my US accounts. From whatever date in July/August I would effectively have the choice 1 (I never count Camlann - hate it) in europe for the same price.

No contest! And not even a promise of mega-Satyn loving is going to change that.
