Buffing - a thought / fix / change for the better

Right now, buffbots are prevalent, so much so theyre making new servers in the US to try to counter them due to customer pressure.

It got me thinking, the realms are unbalanced in their primary buffers and it makes playing a primary buffer unfun. A single druid in a group cant spec -everyone- to capacity, even with the 25% conc bonus, and on the 'new' servers, toa bonus wont be there thanks to no MLS.

So it got me thinking, how could we improve buffing, without a) driving people away b) annoying bot owners c) killing off stealthers and d) killing off real buffers

So, this is my suggestion

1)AOE buffs remain exactly as they are with a minor boost
2) Single specs - removed
3) bases removed - remain and are conc based
4) Spec buffs become group buffs only
5) Keep walls reduce buff radius to 1000 units, so hide it at the lord and deal with lower buffs, or have it out in the open where its vunerable (no more forest of bots at ligen/cain causing transfer lag)

Caveat about groups

Group buffs function within 2000 range PROVIDED you are buffed.
If the buffer is withink 2000 range, all rps are earned normally
If you are out of 2000 range of your buffer, your rps are halved (stealther throwback so they dont cancel accounts) and the buffs drop 25% effectiveness until you return to that range.
Having the Buffer within your group enhances buffs by 10% (inside 2k range)
Specs become more like focus, the higher you spec in the buff line, the more buff points you get, have a tank heavy group then go for Red str/con and yellow qui/dex, skimp on the attack speed and int buffs. Balanced group ?
Brain buff becomes a TRUE actuity buff, it affects ALL classes that have a power bar, slightly differently, on pure casters it enhances their damage, on hybrids it improves their buffs/debuffs, on Healers it enhances the power of their heals.
Balance the buffs, casters? go more for qui/dex and int, or lean it to qui/dex and str and hope they have enough int already, trading off your damage output for the damage you can sustain. The tank group would have lots of hp and hit hard, but not hit very fast and the healers wouldnt be able to pump out healing as easily.

All very doable, and it wont kill buffbots out completely, jsut ensure that real live buffer types are more valuable and that buffbots arent standing around ligen/cain causing mass zone in lag for people and ARE somewhere that assasins can get at them.

Thoughts?

The easiest solution towards buffbots are simply potions and self buffing.
Stackable potions. No timer for buffing.
This will allow people to choose between using a buffbot and potions.

Let's face it, buffbots are used by classes which were designed around buffs but don't group. On the new server they will be at a disadvantage - again.

Buffing is a pain at most times but a necessary evil. Anyone who hasn't played a buffer will not be able to understand that comment.

The best way to solve this issue (with regard to RvR and PvE) is to simply drop all stat buffs and make haste/damage shield/spec af a timed spell. Then allow each class to have advanced stats like the Vamp.
If everyone has it there is no need for buffbots - if there are no buffs there are no buffbots.

Problem with this approach is that it is a MAJOR design change and implementation work and it will loose Mythic (and GOA) quite a few accounts.

Kill that stupid 20 buff limit

Whats the point of getting such and such extra conc for buffing if you reach the 20 buff all the time!

Think that potion idea would work tbh :)
but then mythic would loose money as everyone would cancel their BB account in favour of Potions ;)

On and self buffs shouldnt take power way :< they dont for druids - why on champs and rangers?

Agree with the potion idea. Either that or buff npc's.

putting spec buffs on potions means you have to give the main buffers in each realm some kind of compensation to being made partially obsolete

Healing and rooting is enough for a druid to get into any group.
